upload a zip file and have an option to extract the files within for multiple upload with one file.

ticket system for clients to ask questions about products/software when they have problems.

thumbnails view for files.

email reminders when due date reached

possibility to download a workspace into a packed zip file containing all subfolders and files. documents are converted to doc or txt files, all files are kept and messanges are transformed to notes, etc.

that way, we can have an offline backup !

Hi shalow,

Great ideas! Some of those are already planned for future releases. Massive upload for example is a very important feature to add, as well as some way of backing up files. A problem we are facing now is that we have many features to add but few people to develop them.

Adding to Ignacio's response:

All of shalow propositions are on the OpenGoo 'roadmap'.
  • Having a formal-written roadmap is also on the roadmap  ::)
  • Some of the propositions are even planned for the very near future

Ignacio: I think a more precise term for the feature would be 'batch upload'.

There are seven developers working full - or quasi full - time on OpenGoo. This is not 'few' by open source project measures, but is not enough for building a top-notch product with all the features that come to mind (at least not in a few months).

We are constantly looking for ways to increase the team size. One obvious way will be to start offering services like:
  • hosting the app for small businesses
  • on-site installation
  • consulting
  • training

Another way we already pursued, successfully, twice: have OpenGoo apps, features, modules, refactoring, etc. presented as projects for grad students. That is how the core team met, and that is how we are building the online spredsheets app. It's the 'Goo -all seasons- of code'.

But what would be really cool is to have more developers from around the world join the community. That way we could soon have the best Online Collaboration/Office Suite all in one, open source.
