how to give reading/writing but no deletion rights
« on: December 25, 2010, 05:36:44 pm »
Dear Admin,

is it possible to configure a workspace in such a way, so that a user can write new tasks, add new comments, and read current tasks, without being able to delete any of the posted content, including the comments left.

We are presently using ver. 1.6.2

Thanks.

Hello icfw.

Yes you can. You need to select the WS, then edit its properties, select 'Edit Permissions'  and then you would have to select the user you would like to edit its permissions, and voila!

Best regards,
Francisco

Dear Admin,

I am following what you are saying, but the question actually was,

if there is a way to allow a user to write comments and post new messages in one particular workspace while not allowing him (the same user) to delete comments and messages left in the same workspace by other users.

Thank you for your help.

this would be VERY nice to have... I would like for some people NOT to be able to deleted items.

I think this should be a MUST for users AND groups.

For the time being the privileges are 'Read & Write', 'Read only' and 'None'.
What you mention is not a bad feature at all, however it is not in our roadmap right now... but if you happen to get someone to develop it or if you would like to help sponsoring it (you may do this contacting sales@fengoffice.com), we would be happy to add it in our next release.

Best regards,
Francisco
