I work as part of a team who produce small websites designed to be viewed inside other websites. The reasons for this vary but it usually comes down to providing clients with a modular augmentation to their existing systems. This, in turn, is able to be carried over to a newer implementation of their online systems should it occur.
My question is, would it be possible to add another tab to the operating environment called 'Microsites'?
Upon entering this section, a directory structure would be presented as the default view with an option to view the page rendered as an html document, similar to how frames were used in the past.
The way to upload a new microsite would involve compressing the directories offline and then uploading the compressed file to the office environment where it decompresses the contents to populate a new directory.
Is this difficult to achieve and has anyone done something like this already?
