Reporting total time spent
« on: October 07, 2010, 04:13:46 am »
I don't understand why I can add time estimated in the reporting module, but not the time spent. That would be great to see which tasks are 'over budget'.
Even better would be to highlight the tasks (or the time) which are indeed exceeding the estimated time.

I agree,  the reporting of "time spent" is very limited
It seems that the only way to report the time spent is to examine each task and print it from there.

I would like "time Spent" to be available in the "Task" report fields.  this value would need to be the total time spent on this task and any sub tasks though.

Yes, is there a hack or some way of getting this worked on?
When using this to manage projects this information is important.
Thanks

There IS a way to do that. Check out the 'Time' tab or the 'Total task execution time' reports in task custom reports..

Dear Francisco,

I can not find the variable "Total task execution time" in custom task report, only time estimated.
I'm using fengoffice 1.7.4

Do I need to configure anything else or install a plugin?

Thanks

Just head to 'Time' tab and then select 'Print Report' and fill in the information required.

Best regards,
Francisco

Hi Franponce87,

When I generate the report where you are talking about, than the spent time is shown. That's great, only where is the estimated time. It would be great to have a list of the milestones/task with their spent time next to the estimated time. This way you can calculate if you're "over budget" where Niels is talking about.

I really agree. I "time spent" column is an essential feature.

Allow get the time spent in tasks that have some tag or be able to make filters like that will be grateful.

Yes, we need to have that "Time spent" not only on a report, but also on the screen in a list or so.

The "Task" tab has nice features as overview. That would be really cool to have such a design in the Time area.

Also: Time is not in the Report tab. So I cannot specify a report an save it
