Calendar - missing ')' error?
« on: November 07, 2008, 02:54:22 am »
I'm getting an odd error when I view the entire month on the calendar, then browse 'back' to the previous month.

Screenshot and log info included (not sure which to include, so covered several incidents):

Hi editfish.

Most of the errors in the log are old. The latest one can be solved with this:
http://forums.opengoo.org/index.php?topic=354.msg1375#msg1375

Anyway, the error seems to be related to javascript. What browser are you using?

Thanks.

Can you try if upgrading to 1.0 solves this issue?

Thanks.

Can you see if its related to this?

Events with a line break in the description gives a javascript error.

It doesn't seem to be; I had one with a line break, corrected it, and the error persists:

It reads:

ERROR:
missing ) after argument list

I did not experienced this error in RC3 but after I upgraded to version 1.

It was the calendar and i had to go through the descriptions of every single event before the error stopped happening.

What do you mean by 'go through the descriptions'?  Editing each one, or simply hovering your cursor over each item?

Hi,
to solve the problem of the line breaks in tooltips, in viewweek.php you have to
add this at line 450:

$tipBody = $event->getStart()->format('h:i A') .' - '. $event->getDuration()->format('h:i A') . (trim($event->getDescription()) != '' ? '<br><br>' . $event->getDescription() : '');
$tipBody = str_replace("\r", '', $tipBody);
$tipBody = str_replace("\n", '<br>', $tipBody);

then replace line 453 with this
addTip('w_ev_div_' + <?php echo $event->getId() ?>, '<?php echo str_replace("'", "\\'", $event->getSubject()) ?>', '<?php echo $tipBody;?>');

do the same in viewdate.php when building tooltip (line 340)

I edited each event. Luckily I have only a handful of them and the descriptions were not important. But looks like there is a fix now. I will have to try it.

I also got this error message today using Firefox 3.0.1, however it was when I was linking a file to a task.

I just had this error pop up, will try the fixes mentioned.. but FYI for those who haven't noticed, it seems to be tied to using an apostrophe in your event name...

I noticed it when trying to add "New Year's Day" to my calendar.

Hi rpotinga,

The fix posted by alvarito didn't fix the problem for events with an apostrophe. I modified his post so that now it should fix it.

Thanks.
