a possibility to choose a different sound for a pop-up reminder

it would be nice if we could have the possibility to choose a different, popup  sound for the reminder.

I made this one for myself, and overwritten the original file

at the open goo  installation

this is a great when your playing a game, or away from your computer.

neat.  I hadn't thought about it.. but it would be cool to have custom sounds for reminders... even on a user basis...

Like I have a cool mp3 file of the transformer 'transforming' sound effect followed by an imitation of SoundWave saying that there is a new message... I'd love to have something like that for MY reminders, but I know that my coworkers wouldn't...

having this choice, in a user bases would be even better.
But I guess much more complicated to achieve

I think the default sound should be changed, it's much too gentle
to be an effective reminder.

Unless a new field was added to the USERS table to store the path to said file... an option to edit the sound right under editing user picture... and in the file that triggers that sound, it just pulls the path from the user settings...

Or if you don't want to allow users to upload their own, you could preload the system with 5 or so sounds and provide a dropdown for users to select which one they want...

one of the advantages of a desktop application like thunderbird or Outlook, is that the pup up can jump over all other applications. This functionality is not possible in a web browser but assigning a sound to go off in a certain time is an excellent alternative. this brings it a step closer to a desktop application functionality.

another great thing could be if the system could check, when you log in which of the reminders went off, and if the user was not logged in the time of the reminder. the reminder will pop up the minute the user logs in.

this could be great,   For future releases.

Until having a detailed design of the solution I prefer to maintain discussions at the 'ideas' board.

I actually think most posts on 'feature requests' belong to this board. We just haven't taken the time to move all topics and posts.
