I have a few suggestions and I'm going to try to find the time to work on them too, but how about a view counter and something that shows the current username (and maybe IP for the administrators).

I just installed opengoo, and I've been trying to figure out if there's a way to see which users are online, so I heartily second the request!

This is a big yes from me too.

In fact, if a chat feature were integrated or used in OG, this would be part of that chat feature, so I'm hoping we have double the chance of this occurring!
