blank page after install version3.4.0.17

Hi! I just installed fengoffice and i had a blank page.
The log error shows this message:

PHP Fatal error:  Call to undefined function mysql_connect () in office application functions .php on line 36

does anyone knows how to fix this?
I'm using php 5. 4. 45

Did you restart Apache after you installed the packages?

I have the same issue installed by softaculous.
When I tried a single instalation, it do not recognize the mysql extension

Spent a frustrating 3 hours trying to figure this out on my fresh install.

Edit (with a good *nix editor - not windows notepad)
config/config.php
Change
  define('DB_PERSIST', true);
TO:
  define('DB_PERSIST', false);

And I could see the Admin User Setup Page at last ! 

I do not know the consequences of changing the persistence level.

Hi all  :)

We always recommend setting the following value in "false":

Change
  define('DB_PERSIST', true);
TO:
  define('DB_PERSIST', false);

We are going to be changing it in the near future so that it is set to "false" by default.


With regards to this:

Could you check if you have the following library installed?

php5-mysql

It could be related to this.
