Tasks are prohibitively slow

Good Afternoon,

 I've been using Feng for a small office to help with managing projects for multiple charter schools.  I upgraded it to 3, and it is prohibitively slow now.

 I made a short video, which can be viewed here to demonstrate the lag time between clicking on the task button to actually seeing the tasks. The video is available on vimeo, (it won't let me post the link so just go to vimeo - dot - com /  115666162 (about 1 minute long).

  Is there a configuration issue I can change to make this? At this speed, I can not continue to use this product.

I did add the "SAVE_PERMISSIONS_IN_BACKGROUND" to the config.php file, but that did not help.  I don't see any other settings which could assist. 

 I'm running the system on an M1.Medium Amazon EC2 Server connected to an RDS MySql instance. I've checked the logs on the RDS, and nothing is taxing the system.  The MySQL CPU utilization hasn't gone above 24% since I installed the new version, except for on the hour when a cron runs on another system running on the same system.  The EC2 CPU usage has not gone above 9%... so I don't think it is hardware issue.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

 I forgot to mention, I had Beta installed, and it was running slow too, so I decided to do a fresh install, and was going to manually move everything over as I don't have too much in there now, but the new fresh install is just as slow ... it started off fine, but as I actually added tasks it became slow.

I wanted to provide an additional update.  I've upgraded to version 3.0.0.15s ... this seems to speed it up a bit... but I've also added a few additional workspaces.  What I've found is that the more tasks there are in a workspace the slower it is running.

 So the workspace that I posted the video about above, is still very slow, but the other workspaces are working fine.

 Looking forward to suggestions.

We are aware of the tasks tab performance degrading with a large number of tasks... but it would be interesting to see more cases.

Good news is that this issue is a high-priority and will probably be addressed on Feng Office 3.0.3

Tasks are slow for us too, but somewhat randomly.  They seem to load in the background (ie, you cannot see them) and then all appear at once, and then workspaces they are assigned to loads later on (I presume a function of having background processes enabled).  I can see this all happening, so this is likely slower than intended! 

I have not had a chance to explore further into it.  Sometimes, the tasks will load pretty quick, sometimes after several seconds.  We have caching software active to maximize server performance and FO speed, so it may be when there is a change that it takes longer...  just have not really had enough time to explore.

Let me know if there is anything specific you want details on, and I can provide that.

The not-so-great news is that estimated work time required for fixing/improving this issue is: long. 

Next release (3.0.2) will be out soon with other fixes - but not this issue.

We aim at 3.0.3 improving this.

Not only task are slow, documents tab are very slow, I have many documents in a workspace and with 2.5.x the speed are ok but with the latest version the waiting time it's prohibitive.

It would be great if you fix too in 3.0.3 I wish that this version comes in a only few months.

Thanks!  It's more of an annoyance to admins who work off the view all screen, but collaborators in individual workspaces seems to be ok.
