Auto Upgrade?

How does the upgrade in the administration panel work?  What precautions do I need to be aware of prior to an update?

Before an update you should backup your whole database AND the opengoo folder in the web server.
The upgrade panel is currently not working as it should, so don't pay attention to it for now.
