Solved: Getting Started widget problem
« on: May 05, 2009, 06:50:25 am »
Hello!
I have a problem with my Getting Started widget. Screen snapshot is attached (allocated by the red). Browsers were used - Opera, Konqueror, Firefox - the same problem at all. How can I fix this? Thanks.

The problem appears after adding company info and team members.

Hi,

That is not a problem, if you added company info and users this three steps are not shown because they are no longer necesary.

It looks very strange. Why I can't start a new workspace or update my preferences or add users through this widget? In my opinion these functions should be always accessible irrespective of my other actions.

Den, I think the purpose of this widget is informative, like an introductory checklist or tutorial of how to get started - this is why it is called "Getting Started".  Once you complete one of the functions, it is crossed off and then you can do the next one.  Once you have completed all of the steps, you can close the widget, as you have now learned how to use OG.  It was not created as a permanent menu. Hope this helps!

Thank you for replies! I've just removed this widget, because of its full uselessness. It only takes a place for nothing  :)

It is useful for someone who has not used OpenGoo before. There are many non-technical users who will appreciate this, including one of my own users.  :)

cheers
