version tracking for plugins
« on: April 26, 2011, 09:03:28 pm »
Hey guys!

I'm relatively new to the world of web based application dev, but have some experience with version tracking software and such. I want to know what the best way to maintain plugins/code tweaks well also maintaing the current feng upgrade cycle.

I've used git and perforce in the past for version tracking which works great on projects where there are a number of ppl working on the same code. Whoever in this case when the new version comes out its kinda hard to go through and update well maintaing the plugins I've found on here or produced myself. I have a personal active list of the files I've modified which is how I go about doing it now. I just grab my custom files and reintroduce them into the new feng files and run diff to see if anything major has changed.

I was wondering if there was a better way to do this or if what I'm doing now is pretty much the way it works.

Thanks guys!

Hello Julius,

Right now there is almost no documentation regarding plugins, however, I strongly suggest reading this links:
http://forums.fengoffice.com/index.php?topic=892.0

And here you have some plugins:

http://www.fengoffice.com/web/wiki/doku.php/progressbar

Should you want to share your information about new tweaks, hacks and features, please do so, so other users may integrate them to their system. If we find them useful we may also integrate them to the core code as well.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Francisco
