Feature requests / Re: WYSIWYG HTML editor for Task, and Note
« on: July 04, 2011, 03:27:08 am »
We at Velocity have integrated CKEditor and its working very well. If you want help regarding the same please let me know.

We are planning to write an instruction manual for the community. The only catch is - you will not be able to auto-upgrade Feng Office as that would replace the files where you would have made the changes.

Since this was done only for ourselves we have not tried to create a plugin for FengOffice. If we get some community sponsorship we may start the work on making a plugin.

General Discussion / Re: Why Feng Office is going nowhere ?
« on: February 12, 2010, 01:34:12 am »
Hi Amejat,

I can understand your frustration, it might be that without Spreadsheet you are missing some major feature in FengOffice.

All I will like to tell is, there is no point shouting at the development team. I understand Open Source Softwares are good and should supported, but at the same time there is money required to live and be motivated to continue the work. USD 1000 for Spreadsheet application development is not much. The development team asked from the community to contribute few dollors and help the team start on with the work, looks like community is more interested in wasting money downloading paid iphone apps rather than contributing for the development efforts.

May be you do not agree to this, yet all I will like to tell is FengOffice Community version is good and very useful. Just because of one spreadhsheet app you cannot dump FengOffice. I have not found any other OSS which is as good as FengOffice.

I request you to cool down a little and enjoy the application. Spreadsheet will certainly be there. Give the team sometime to develop.

Older versions / Sub Tasks show all the Users irrespective of the access
« on: January 05, 2010, 09:44:52 am »
Feng Office Community edition v1.6.1

Scenario:
Create a new Task and then create a Sub-Task. Now try to assign that sub task to someone.

Error:
Above scenario will show the list of all the users in the system although the ID with which the person is logged in does not have access to assign task to anyone else.

Expected working:
Users should not be able to see anyone who is not accessible to that user.

Older versions / Bug in running custom report - version 1.4.2
« on: July 13, 2009, 12:26:42 am »
Hi,

I am facing problem in running reports for the timesheet filled by my employees in OpenGoo v1.4.2

Goto Reporting > Create Custom Report > try running the report. I get the error "We are sorry, but OpenGoo is not currently able to execute your request. An Error Report has been sent to the administrator."

I have checked my administration email ID too, but I have received no notification regarding this failure.

Can you please let me know the problem and solution.

I agree with millionleaves.

There is an option to enter time against a workspace but not on a task by going to "Time" tab.

Enabling/disabling these things should be an option from the admin panel.

Feature requests / Bug reporting in OpenGoo
« on: March 06, 2009, 11:37:49 pm »
I know I am not asking for anything new. I have seen one of the discussions on this topic. The suggestion given to the requester was to use OpenGoo as the Bug reporting tool. So all the user can do is to create a task as a Bug and get it treated as a normal task OR the user can create a Sub workspace for Bug reporting and ask the Tester to log Bugs in that Sub-Workspace as a task.

But at the end of the day, how can one come to know by just seeing a Task that its a Reported Bug or a normal task?

From the usability point of view I think there should be a separate way to know whether a particular task is a bug or a work request.

The easiest way out can be to just give an option -  Report Bug.
When a user opens the "Report Bug" page, he would be presented with the same page as the one used in creating a task. Only difference will be that there will be a classification of this Task as a "Bug". Rest things like priority, assignee, timeline etc etc will remain same as that of a normal Task. Thus with minimal changes OpenGoo will have Bug Reporting functionality too.

Since we are classifying tasks as Task and Bugs so we will have to have an entry for "Pending Bugs" on the dashboard. User shall also have an option to generate the bug report.

Once my programmers are free from billable works I will see that they put in some time in Open Goo and customize it for Bug reporting. Meanwhile if OpenGoo team does that, it will be  wonderful. I have tried to peep into OpenGoo code...its very complex. I could not find any documentation and much time in my hand, because of which could not proceed further.

Nitin

Feature requests / Re: SyncML
« on: March 06, 2009, 11:24:19 pm »
I think SyncML is really a good option.

I sync my Google Calendar with my Mobile Calendar so even if OpenGoo gives the ability to sync its Calendar with Google Calendar...things would work like charm.

I could probably work on a rewrite script, but i would need some people to test it.

You have me as a tester Sir, but I can do Black Box testing only from the end user's perspective. I am not too geeky  ;) you know.
