Feature requests / user settings
« on: January 04, 2009, 09:58:18 am »
Would it be possible to have users (or as a temporary solution only the administrator for the whole system) set a few thing that might fit a particular organisation:

1) in the overview, how many documents, notes, etc.  are shown upon first display
2) turn on/of to show items from sub-workspaces if you are not in a particular subspace (because right now, if you are in a higher lever workspace, you get way to much information which is confusing if you don't already know what you are looking for
3) default calendar display (which is not necessarily the last used display), i.e. month, day or week view)
4) new option, and should also be part of 3): view calendar as a list, so it is easier to get a long term view of activities.

I had some time to do some more checking and I have to confirm that my previous postings were correct. Tested on IE7 and windows XP.

Feng Office 1 / Re: v 1.1 new user private map not visible for admin

additional to the above - the private map can't be deleted by an admin. This may be intentional, and the map will be deleted when you remove the user, but this is different from the behavior in  v1.0

Feng Office 1 / v 1.1 bugs not all correct reported
« on: January 03, 2009, 10:14:02 am »
I just ran into some strange things, it turns out that some of my problems are related to my browser and perhaps ISA server. I am using IE 8.0 beta (yes, I know) on a business network and on another computer IE 7.x (please, don't tell me) on a home network.

Appearantly the behavior on IE 7 and IE 8 is completely different - my 7.x installation seems to do most things OK. I can't check all my reported issues, but I will have to recheck and get back to you.

I offer my appologies for not having double checked first (but perhaps some people will have some benefit from these postings.

Feature requests / change workspace
« on: January 02, 2009, 11:15:44 pm »
When you have an admin task on the main screen (i.e. workspaces, users, groups) and you are done you are likely to click in on a workspace in the left pane to continue working. It would be nice if at that point the main screen is cleared and an overview of tasks, notes, documents etc. belonging the that workspace is shown, rather than having to click another button in the horizontal menu.

Feng Office 1 / v 1.1 upload file

When uploading a file by clicking on the 'add file' button things work as expected. When changing the filename, you have to click twice before the upload starts.

Feng Office 1 / v 1.1 edit workspaces
« on: January 02, 2009, 09:14:06 pm »
When click a workspace (administration mode) and clicking on description or edit permissions, the expansion does not go properly and some of the fields and info does not move down until you click on something.

Feng Office 1 / v 1.1 setting up rights to workspaces
« on: January 02, 2009, 09:10:51 pm »
When giving someone right to a higher lever work space, you can in the right hand collumn click all (default is on). This all applies appearantly to future lower level work spaces only - existing lower level workspaces have to be marked (down to the deepest level) by hand, otherwise they are (remain) excluded. I think this is not handy, especiall when using elaborate workspace schemes.

Feng Office 1 / v 1.1 new user private map not visible for admin
« on: January 02, 2009, 09:01:10 pm »
When making a new user a personal map is created. I would, as an admin, expect to see that map, but I don't. It is visible in the admin area and after editing this map (name change), it becomes visible in the tree.

Feng Office 1 / edit file properties

when renaming a file (option edit file properties) you enter a new file name, but upon saving nothing happens. However, hitting the button "save changes" twice does the trick.

Feature requests / tree structure workspaces (and misc. stuff)
« on: January 02, 2009, 11:29:21 am »
I have been using OpenGoo for over a week and I think it is great! I seriously plan to make this the once and for all replacement of my ftp document repository and I will move a lot of my Google docs over as well.

I see a couple of things that would mkae life easier - I hope I am not duplicating existing entries in this forum:

1) the workspaces are listed in a tree stucture, which is the way it should be. Then why is the maintain workspaces (admin option) not organized the same way. I have made some 30 or so workspaces and it is already hard to find my way, not to mention the problems with 2 workspaces with the same name in different branches of the tree. Would be nice if this could be fixed.

2) I can barely see the use of groups if you can't assign workspaces to a group.

3) I thought/hoped that spreadsheets were going to be part of 1.1. Did they not make it or did I install wrong? If they didn't make it, what would you expect to be the timeframe to incorporate them?

4) there are some inconsistencies in the placement of the workspaces option: sometimes it is not at the top (Edit file properties), sometimes it is available in the right hand actions (contact). I think it should always be available in the task list, or perhaps it could me made optionally available in the task list (by the admin).

5) why is the company option available in the administratration area? It seems like a regular contact option at the same time.

6) I checked the config.php file and it says product version 1.0, but I am running 1.1. Is this correct?

Thanks for this great software. I am looking forward to spend a lot of time with it.

Installation problems / Re: Error - Failed to create folder
« on: December 03, 2008, 11:19:23 am »
OK - found the solution here: laatste bericht op pagina.
Before it got to work the PHP safe mode had to be turned off as well....

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I had looked before I posted, but not that far.

Please add these 2 things (even just for the time being) to the installation instructions, because I use a straight forward server and after having installed many software installations without a problem, one is very easily tempted to just give up and move on. It would be a shame to lose following over such simple things, because OpenGoo looks very, very promising!!!

Thank you developers for all your efforts.

Installation problems / Error - Failed to create folder
« on: December 03, 2008, 07:15:04 am »
I just installed OpenGoo and seem to have a perfect working installation, except for one thing.

When I try to create or uload a document (setup: files mode) I get the error message stating "Error Failed to create folder '/home/httpd/....'". This path ends up with some directories in the upload directory that it can't create.

The upload directory exists and is chmoded to 777, the directories that it tries to create  (like 'a23e7/348d1/a86d1') don't exist before or after.

If I set the system to use the database mode to store documents, it seems to work OK.

Any ideas?
