Feature requests / Updating Uploaded Documents
« on: February 20, 2009, 01:43:12 pm »
When viewing the properties of an uploaded file, how about adding a link under ACTIONS to update the file?

It's kind of minor, but skips the step of having to Edit the Properties, then Update it.

I brought this up not too long ago myself, and I think they did put it on their 'to do list'. Hopefully soon :>

Development / Re: How to integrate opengoo with other site?
« on: February 11, 2009, 04:40:40 pm »
Something for the developers to consider,

Check out FlashChat (www.tufat.com)

The developer took great pains to allow the chat to be easily integrated into a number of forums, CMS systems as well as a method for linking to other user bases as long as you know the database table structure.

Might be something to look at for OG for the future.

*I* don't want to deal with WIKI coding, and if I don't, the geek that I am, I know my clients won't want to wory about it.

Having an option to have a text link in a note to a document would be nice, yes... but don't make users learn wiki or other syntax.

Feature requests / Editing Tags
« on: February 06, 2009, 06:15:27 pm »
It would be handy to be able to edit tags right from viewing an object.

For examples, I use notes for tracking things like RFIs, submittals and such to the architects. I start the note when I receive something from a subcontractor and mark it with a "pending" tag.

I use comments to update the status, like "submitted to architcect", "recieved back, change as noted" or whatever. Then when it's finished up, I change the tag from pending to "closed".

I dunno, maybe it's a minor thing, but having a "edit" button along with the list of tags might be handy for doing quick changes... sort of along the lines of the add a link setup.

Feature requests / Re: Document Viewer for PDF files

On the other side of this... maybe down the road turning docs created in OG to PDF could be an option?

Check out the free scripts here... the developer seems to allow others to use the code

Feature requests / Re: handling large files
« on: February 06, 2009, 10:30:09 am »
is FTP an option?

The photo gallery software I use has the option from the admin panel to upload a photo at a time... or you FTP a batch of files to a "pending" folder. The admin panel recognizes they are there and then you can batch import them.

Another file manager I've used also lets you FTP files in to the folders and it just recognizes they are there as if they were uploaded via the site... gives them a default name based on the file name, etc. Then you can edit the properties as desired.

So maybe one of these two approaches would be a nice add on..?

Is there any plan to add a Notes field for company contacts the way there is for peeople?

Feature requests / Re: User Time Tracking
« on: February 04, 2009, 04:33:24 pm »
yea, how would something like this work?

I actually keep (at least) two tabs open to OpenGoo in my browser... one is pretty much always on a specific project because I spend so much of my day on that project right now, the other browser window I use to shift around to other stuff as needed.

There are spans of an hour or so where I may not be doing anything "in" OpenGoo, but both tabs are open.

Feng Office 1 / v1.1 - Linking Items to New Document
« on: February 03, 2009, 01:20:13 pm »
I tried this a couple times..
When adding a new, uploaded document to a workspace, it would not let me link it to a contact.

After uploading, I could go back and modify the properties of the file and link then.

Feature requests / Re: Sticky Notes! (a true must for any project)
« on: February 02, 2009, 03:32:06 pm »
I'd say do it like forums do.. a check box option for "sticky" to mark a note as sticky.

When sorting the list of notes, search for and sort the sticky ones first, then non-sticky ones.

If you want to carry the feature set over, most forums have announcements which get listed with a higher priority than sticky posts do.

Feng Office 1 / Calendar View By User in IE
« on: January 29, 2009, 06:10:27 pm »
in 1.1

When you hit more than 10-12 users, if you try to view the calendar of another user in Firefox, the list of users gets a scroll bar, but in IE it doesn't. You can scroll, but you need to use the arrow keys, you can't use a scroll wheel or mouse in any way.
