Feature requests / printing HTML documents from detailed view

using ver.1.6.2
Dear Administrator,

Would it be possible to add a printing function for HTML documents under 'Actions' in (documents) detailed view.

Presently, in order to make printouts, the user needs to go through the 'Edit' function, as the printing feature is only available from within the 'Editing' mode.

If we grant a user 'read only' access rights, that user is not able then to make any printouts of any documents.

How To's / Re: v. 1.6.2 Fatal error when trying to remove a user account

Hi,

following occurred during the process:

1. no 'Successfully Created' message was displayed but the user icon was listed under the 'Users' menu.
2. the password specified during the creation process of this user account was not accepted, hence I had to change it from within the administrator panel
3. Upon logging in, the error 500 was displayed for the ''Overview'' module.

This would be a quick summary.

Hi,

Alternative 1:

as the Feng Office is a PHP script, the server settings affect  the script, as for how long any php function/action can be executed for, and what the max upload capacity per file is allowable. To readjust these values, the php.ini file needs to be added into the root folder of the Feng Office script or if it already exists, it needs to be modified. Please check with your server administrator what set max. server limits are before you make any changes to php.ini file.

Alternative 2:

when zipping a set of files, the zipped file will be saved in the workspace you are currently in. Hence, the workspace you are currently in, you need to have the read/write access rights for it, otherwise, the script will attempt to store the zipped file into your personal workspace or it will fail.

You cannot be on the 'All' workspace when trying to zip a large quantity of files. For some reason it keeps failing, by creating 0.0KB files.

How To's / v. 1.6.2 Fatal error when trying to remove a user account

I am getting a fatal error when trying to remove a specific user account that was not successfully created in the first place.

How can I manually remove this particular user account from the system, in order to create another user account with the same user name

I am presently in a time crunch. Anybodies help is greatly appreciated.

Note: The problem has been solved!

Troubleshooting strategy:

1. upon logging in, the 'Getting Started Widget' was set to 'YES' in the profile. That one was failing to load
1.1 After disabling the 'Getting Started Widget' I was able to log in with this particular username

2. upon further analysis, I have noted that no personal workspace existed for this particular user.
2.1. Created a new workspace and linked it to this particular user as its personal workspace (changes accomplished within the administrator account)

3. Attempted to delete the user again, and was able to do so.

Note:
The script was failing to delete a user, as it required a confirmation to delete the user and its associated personal workspace. As the personal workspace did not exist, the error occurred. By creating and linking a personal workspace for this particular user account, allowed me to delete this user.

The cease is closed.

In the new version of the Feng Office 1.7, do deleted emails found in the Trash workspace get deleted automatically (i.e. after 30 days) like the rest of the files, once the time sequence is defined?

yes, the php.ini file is the key. It can be modified to set the upload limit. However, you should also check with the system administrator to see if server itself has a generic limit set for php based scripts as far as uploads are concerned  as well.

Feature requests / Quick Links Module on the Overview Page

Dear admin,

we are utilizing the Feng Office (among other things) for collaboration between staff members for our monthly magazine publication. Our primary workspaces change every month, as we have every month a new publication to compile.

The consistency however remains for 30 days, where all staff uses same workspaces for the entire month.

Upon logging in, it requires many clicks to get to the current workspace (the main workspace of the month).

Would it be possible to add a module on the overview page (or something similar) where users are able to create a link, is what I call a 'short cut' to those workspaces they will be using the most frequently that month.

An alternative solution to this problem is to have the script analyze which workspace are visited most often, and automatically create a list of links for the same workspace(s). Users can simply click on the link and be 'jumped' to the current workspace right away vs. going through so many clicks to get to the same.
