How To's / my feng office is using too much ram. Help!

Dear Admin,

we are using the community version 6.22 of the Feng Office. Analyzing the memory and cpu usage, it gives us very high readings. All what we are doing during this time is simply trying to login, and then just browse through various workspaces.

Here is the replay we got from the admin:

"Hello

I have checked your issue and it seems to be some module or some part of your code is having heavy memory leak which is requesting extra heavy amount of memory which the webserver is failing to serve. You need to fix the code. Please contact any developers regarding this and they will be able to help you on this.

How To's / how to create report on comments response to Notes

Dear Administrator,

is there a way in the feng office to produce a report about how quickly a particular user responded to all notes/comments of the notes in a particular workspace (or several workspaces) for the past month or so. Does the report module offer such possebilities, and if yes, how?

is there a way to change default settings for the overview module page, so that by default up to 20 latest updated notes are displayed there? Before going to the actual Notes module to see them all.

Feature requests / Improving/Expanding the 'Comments' function

Dear Administrator,

as so many comments are posted by variety of users (i.e. on a note), it becomes increasingly difficult to determine, which comments a user has already seen and read and which are new for that particular user.

Would it be possible for new comments to appear in BOLD by default, and by clicking on them, they would change to standard non-bold font.

Or to have a some different mechanism in place, such as a "light bulb", a radial button, or a check box besides it, or something else that a user can click on to indicate that a posted comment was already read.

How To's / how to give reading/writing but no deletion rights

Dear Admin,

is it possible to configure a workspace in such a way, so that a user can write new tasks, add new comments, and read current tasks, without being able to delete any of the posted content, including the comments left.

We are presently using ver. 1.6.2

Feature requests / locking NOTES against deletion

Dear admin,

same idea of a "lockable" mechanism against deletion of data that was used in the old floppy disks.

Is it possible to have an additional feature while creating a note to place a check-mark and 'lock' a note/prevent it from being deleted when mass deletion is performed in the same workspace.

Feature requests / Edit file Properties from within the Web Office itself

Hi,

I have noticed the following:

when editing the file properties and wanting to replace the old file with a new file, I can check the option "Update File' and then browse/upload the new file into the web office.

Unfortunately, the only way to upload and replace the old file with a new one, is by uploading the new file from the local machine (i.e. laptop).

Is it possible to to incorporate an option allowing for replacement of the old file with the one already existing the web office? (this option was incorporated in the email module for attachments purposes already).

The Feng Office is designed for the user to work online, edit and save the content (online).

This would be a great feature.

How To's / custom property lines are not being printed when printing Notes

v. 6.2

We have added custom property fields to our Notes, two of them. Both of them being drop-down menus with several options on each.

When printing the note, everything prints fine, content wise, except the values selected in the custom property section - totally skipped.

Is this normal? Can this section be included in printing process as well?

How To's / How to insert a shortcut to another object in Notes & Documents

Hi,

is there a way to insert a direct link inside the text body of a Note or a Document, so that when the user clicks on it, it opens it up in other window for example.

i.e.

"Our printing due dates are listed in 'Printing Due Dates' note. To access it click here: <link>"

Feature requests / NOTES Module: Sorting comments in reverse fashion - newest first

Hi, we have been using the Feng Office for over a year now. Here is a genuine request we have in reference to NOTES Module.

Problem we are facing:

We are communicating often via notes, by posting comments on every note. After a while, the comments section becomes longer and it takes a lot of scrolling down in order to reach the latest comments.

Proposed Solution:

A function which allows sorting of comments in reverse/ascending  fashion, meaning latest comments at the top and the first/old comments at the buttom of the list.

We greatly appreciate your help.

Feature requests / Adding 'Expend' vs. 'Minimize' view on the Text body content of NOTES

Hi, we have been using the Feng Office for over a year now. Here is a genuine request we have in reference to Notes Module.

Problem we are facing:

When users post a note, and the main text body contains a lot of content, it takes a lot of scrolling down, until we reach the actual COMMENTS section.

Proposed Solution:

same as in the detailed view of DOCUMENTS module, a user can expend the view and minimize the view. Standard/minimized view is great for accessing the revisions, etc.

Would it be possible to incorporate the same function for the NOTES Module, so that if the main Text body exceeds let say 300 words, it automatically shrinks/minimizes the view while offering a link to click on to expend/maximize the view. This would allow for an easy access to comments section.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

How To's / Groups Listing not alphabetical?

using v.6.2
Dear Administrator and/or others,

we have observed that the list of various groups under the 'Groups' menu is not being listed alphabetically. i.e. when a new group is created, it is automatically listed at the bottom of the list, vs. being sorted alphabetically in the list.

Can this be addressed somehow?
