If you check in a document by uploading a new revision, then you have the opportunity to give it a new filename. But this new filename is not stored when you click the button "Checkin file"

Tags are usually displayed in the detail view (properties). Not so for contacts who represent a person. (Companies are fine.)

Feng Office 1 / History not working properly

I'm still checking this, but it seems that the edit history does not work properly. Some changes I made on a contact weren't recorded at all.

And when I assign a contact to a workspace, the entry in the history reads "'XY' assigned to project" (probably a leftover from activeCollab which had projects).

When you create a new company in the process of editing a person's contact then this new company will not be safed.

If a contact represents a person, and that person is allocated to a company, the city of that company is not displayed in the detail view of the person's contact.

How To's / What are properties for?

For every object (regardless of its type) you can enter 4 properties as name/value pairs.

Do this properties have a special meaning, i.e. can a search, sort, filter by these properties?

Feng Office 1 / "New" Button

Next to the search box there is a button that I notice for the first time in RC2: "New" let's you create a new object of almost any type regardless in which module you are.

Good idea - but the button looks a bit uggly in Firefox and Safari on a Mac. (It looks fine on Windows.)

I just realized that Tine 2.0 (http://www.tine20.org/demo/) has similarities with OpenGoo. Do they have something in common, technically speaking?

UPDATE: I think, I can answer this question myself: It's probably ExtJS, right?

How To's / Facts about search

For our manual i tried to figure out some facts about the fultext search feature. Can anybody tell me if I'm right and if I'm not missing some important aspect?

Searching takes always place in the currently selected workspace. This can help to narrow your search. On the other hand: If you don't find what you expect, set the workspace to All for a global search. (Users and contacts can be found regardless of the selected workspace.)

You can enter several words in the search field. OpenGoo will then find any information that contains at least one of these words. If you would like to search only for a specific phrase, then put it into quotes.

You can't search within documents. This is not only true for Word documents, PDFs and similar uploaded documents, but as well as for online editable documents.

Feng Office 1 / Presentation editor: Crash when inserting image

RC1 / Firefox 3.0.3 / Mac OS 10.5.5

The presentation editor crashes when I try to insert an image. You have to completely reload OpenGoo and will loose all your unsafed edits.

UPDATE: Same problem with Safari. The crash happens as soon as you select another picture than the first one (which is selected by default). If you click OK nothing happens, you can't close the file selector box anymore, game over!

How To's / Date format, first day of week

Currently the date format of my OpenGoo 1.0 RC1 is mm/dd/yyyy. In my country people are used to dd/mm/yyyy. I didn't find a possibility to set the date format in the administration panel, so i changed

  define('DEFAULT_LOCALIZATION', 'en_us');

to

  define('DEFAULT_LOCALIZATION', 'de_ch');

in config/config.php. But this gives me a blank screen... 

The same problem with the first day in a week: We start counting at Monday, not Sunday. Can I change this?

How To's / Missing widgets

So far I didn't have the pleasure to meet the following widgets (which are mentioned in the user preferences):

* Tasks in progress widget (as opposite to the well known Pending tasks widget)
* Charts widget

What do I have to do to see them on the dashboard?

Feng Office 1 / Time tracking for several tasks in parallel

I just noticed that I'm able to start the timer for more than one task at a time. This will lead to inappropriate timesheets. In my eyes this should not be possible - or at least you should get a warning.
