Hey gusy,

If you have problem about email reminder, check this:
http://forums.opengoo.org/index.php?topic=2461.msg9487#msg9487
Thanks, but the originator email address is defined.
I have also followed instructions on running cron as a system task on the server. Have done it in a slightly different way since using HELM server:
Web Scheduled task as project/cron.php, fired off every 10 minutes.
The scheduler shows the task as being done without errors, but every time its fired there is no log about emails in log.php. Still, the reminder notifications are not being sent.
define debug=TRUE.

So there is something else thats happening but I'd like to see some semblance of a log of the events which is not happening at all.

Two problems.
After upgrading from 1.5.1 to beta 3 and using upgrade url message 'already upgraded'  perhaps this is not a problem I do not know.

Second; getting same notification email problem as mentioned by others here. However, if I change a task, get the notification, but if the event completes, I do not get any notification email of the event completion despite notifications being set as email reminders to recipients.

How To's / Re: Option to keep files as they are and not encrypted
« on: August 08, 2009, 02:19:18 am »
The only problem with this linking is that it compromises the original idea that files are stored on same server. For example I have my own server as do many, with loads of bandwidth. I also use dropbox, and skydrive, but this creates a dependence on their services, and for example skydrive will remove you if there is no signon within 60 days. To me, its more professional that the OG project also encompasses the storage for associate business.

I was just thinking about this yesterday! It easy to figure out reasons for both points of view; permissions and public access. Maybe a PublicFiles readonly folder (admin has write permission) would be a useful solution. OG would still need to recognise the existence of files within this folder, which in its more developed form could perhaps move and change the properties to the current files folder.

In particular, I had wanted to upload over 100mb of picture files in a zip for the business so that they had reference to this file online, in case of fire or whatever. Of course OG will not allow this.

It happens 100% of the time with all workspaces, and with all tabs. No errors appear in the err log, no errors appear on-screen.
Overview problem in 1.5.0 as well.

I believe this may be related to this?

or not, I have been completely wrong before ...  ;D
Sounds similar; although what I am experiencing is not generating an error (V1.5 and I leave debug=true and no log event)
I'll comment further if its happening with 1.51 when I get round to upgrading.
Cheers,
Al

I see what you mean does not look like you can do this eg using a repeating task you can certainly get a date repeated as you know, but to get a dayofmonth repeat does not seem currently feasible, however its important feature of any office operation.
Please move this to feature requests.

In the meantime you can achieve this by placing the event manually on calendar for each day of each month you want to be reminded of.
Cheers,
Alistair.

How To's / Re: 1.5OG - any tips on how to make reminder working?
« on: August 06, 2009, 07:11:31 am »
Hi looked at your log file and it suggests that your db might have corruption, or your installation of OG might be corrupted. If it was me, I would install OG1.51, taking care to follow install instructions, and retry. If that fails check out your mysql file with PHPmyadmin.
Lets know how you go.
Cheers,
Al.

How To's / Re: Issue with Upgrade
« on: August 06, 2009, 07:02:37 am »
Sir you have to try a little harder. The designers have provided help for users in the form of text files which accompany the installation. You must follow these precisely to avoid any problems. Installations are straight forward but you must take notice of the information provided.

Older versions / 1.5 Overview tab instantiates on other tabs
« on: August 06, 2009, 06:50:12 am »
EG I will click on Email (or any other tab) and the Overview tab info will be displayed. If I click on Email again, usually the correct tab info will be displayed. However, when actioning items eg within calendar tab, Overview tab info may randomly appear. This is happening on two different machines running different o/s. It may be my install of OG too, but if anyone else has been experiencing this oddity, please report it here to confirm.
Thanks vm.
Alistair.

I think this is a different error than yours Bigal. When you click on an event you get an error 500? Don't you get an error message? Have you enabled DEBUG mode like this?

Thanks.

Surely I have. And surely I dont get a debug error message. Here is config.php:
  define('DEBUG', true);

How To's / Re: email issue, not able to send/recieve
« on: August 02, 2009, 05:19:40 pm »
OK, I seem to have gotten it at least partially solved.

using my local smtp server, port 25 is used for unsecure email, ssl email uses another port.  I had been using port 25 instead of the secure port #.  Once  I changed the port #, it worked just fine.

Thanks for the update someday someone might be able to use this info you have kindly provided.

How To's / Re: Simple yet vitally important question re: upgrade
« on: August 02, 2009, 02:59:50 am »
I've installed a 2nd version of OG (1.5) on another domain without fail, but the upgrade is killing me still, along with everyone else!
Not understood the above. If you have OG working ok on another directory, and you follow the instructions on upgrading implicitly, you should have no problems. If you do, then you can always revert back to 1.4 because following the instructions, you will have backed it all up. I backed up the full 1.4 installation into another directory just in case. To be doubly sure I exported my mysql database as well.

PS dont get snappy at the support offered from developers. You are lucky to get any from them their role is to continue to improve the product to the best of their ability. If you wish to help, study the product, and offer your support to others at no charge.

The object thing is a bit of a worry, but your server might like to have defined as smtp server 'localhost' also I used my POP server IP address rather than a url.
If you cant get it to work, perhaps ask your domain provider what may be wrong. If you are lucky like me, my support system is pretty good and anything like this they are happy to serve.
