Thanks a million; I hoping to work on the upgrade this weekend.

Thanks for the help.  Will I still have to remove certain [included] folders prior to upgrade, as stated in the README?

Sorry to seem so dense with this.  We're using the beta fairly heavily and I don't want to risk breaking it (even though it will be backed up).

I'm interested.

We've got an install on our site, but I would like to be able to play with the newest versions.  To whom do I send the email request?

Installation problems / 9.1 Upgrade README clarification (perplexed)
« on: October 17, 2008, 01:13:54 am »
The README included in the 0.9.1 release has instructions to " Upgrade from 0.7 and older" and to "Upgrade from 0.9".  It has no instructions for upgrading from 0.8.  ???

I'm running v 0.8, and did not upgrade to the [broken?] 0.9.

The instructions for the 0.7 and older state that as part of the upgrade procedure, one will lastly upgrade "from 0.8 to 0.9".

Can I upgrade from 0.8 directly to 0.9.1, or do I need to first upgrade to the [broken?] 0.9?

Thanks!

How To's / Permissions for Contacts? Help!
« on: October 17, 2008, 12:59:26 am »
Hi-

I'm having trouble with the permissions for the 'Contacts' section.

Although individual users can add contacts into their own workspaces, and deselect access options by other users, they still show up in the 'Contacts' list when other users log in, and appear to even be editable by them, even though their individual and group settings supposedly disallow contact management.

They are still viewable even when assigned to workspaces NOT VISIBLE in the collapsible workspace list on the left.

I have gone through all the individual permissions settings for each user, removing all contact permissions, and also the 'group' permissions.

What am I overlooking?

*edit* This appears to be the opposite problem discussed in another thread (http://forums.opengoo.org/index.php?topic=225.0); which appears to be bug related?

I was looking forward to seeing the fixes in 0.9, but all these install isues have made me a bit nervous about jumping right into the update, despite the help here in the forum recommending various fixes and workarounds.

I think I'll wait for the next one...

I'm not consciously trying to make more work for you; it just seems to turn out that way.  :D

Seriously, though, I'm very patient.  Opengoo is bar none the best opensource personal information/bookmark manager (that's how we use it, anyway) that I've come across (and I've tried out a lot!).

Keep up the good work!

4. I figured out that Groups are to be used for setting a permissions level similar to "power users, users, and guests" like in WinXP.  ALSO, discovered the granular permissions can be further defined on each users profile (when logged in as admin), further restricting specific activities.  I have since created a "powerusers" Group which can do everything except Config, which I reserve for the admin only.

Maybe I'm missing something.  I'm trying to set up a group to view one of my workspaces/subworkspaces without having to manually add in every user that I want to see it.  I've created the group, and assigned users to it, but when I edit the workspace, it does not give me the option to select that group--just the long list of users.

Secondly, when I edit one workspace, how can I get the permissions casacade down into the associated subworkspaces, or does each subworkspace also need to be edited manually?

Thanks!

Feature requests / European Date format vs Other?
« on: October 10, 2008, 12:27:58 am »
This may have been addressed elsewhere in the forum, but was unable to find it:

In the 'week' view of the calender, dates are shown in the European format, dd/mm; is it possible to reverse them to mm/dd/yy format, or even yyyymmdd?

Thanks!

Getting Started / Re: Which webhosting company do you use for OpenGoo?
« on: October 09, 2008, 12:51:15 pm »
I've installed Opengoo on our site, which is located on a shared server with Midphase--and had not problems with the install--but it occasionally opens veeeeeerrrrryyyy sloooooowwwly.  I presume this is a shared load issue and not a coding problems?

You shouldn't need a FF plugin to read it; just change the page character encoding to "Cyrillic (Windows 1251)" and it should display correctly.
