How To's / Tasks, Subtasks, & Templates
« on: March 07, 2011, 04:02:47 pm »
The tasks and subtasks are amazingly easy to use and organize.  However, when I try to create a task template to recreate frequently used groups of tasks, I can't seem to get subtasks to work correctly.

The wiki (http://www.fengoffice.com/web/wiki/doku.php/tasks) contains outdated information, which doesn't help.  (And what are the parameters for?)

Any suggestions or guidance on how to get my brain around it would be greatly appreciated!   ::)

Feature requests / Address Book
« on: January 17, 2010, 12:14:41 am »
I like the address book functionality, but it feels a bit cumbersome at times with having to go through the different screens.

Although it would be a low priority, I would suggest perhaps looking at "The Address Book" to see if it might be a useful integration.  I've been using it for several years and love it's straightforward interface.

Any one else have any experience using this app?

Installation problems / Upgrading vs New Install?
« on: August 12, 2009, 04:19:28 pm »
Hello-

I'm currently running 1.0 rc3, and past attempts to upgrade to each new release as they come out have consistently failed for a variety of reasons.  I am about to try again with the new version, but am wondering if it might not be less frustrating to just do a new install?

If so, how can I go about exporting all the users, accounts, documents and weblinks from the old install and into the new one?

Thanks!

Installation problems / Upgrade to 1.4.1 from 1.0 RC3
« on: June 14, 2009, 11:10:02 pm »
Hello-

I am trying to upgrade to the new version, but 1.0RC3 is not an option on the 'upgrade from' list.  If I choose 1.0 to 1.4.1, it returns the following error:

    * Config file found and loaded.

    * Folder '/config' exists and is writable

    * Test query has been executed. Its safe to proceed with database migration.
    * Failed to execute DB schema transformations. MySQL said: Duplicate column name 'paused_on'

The log file shows this error as well:

Any suggestions?

Feng Office 1 / Calendar - missing ')' error?
« on: November 07, 2008, 02:54:22 am »
I'm getting an odd error when I view the entire month on the calendar, then browse 'back' to the previous month.

Screenshot and log info included (not sure which to include, so covered several incidents):

Installation problems / 9.1 Upgrade README clarification (perplexed)
« on: October 17, 2008, 01:13:54 am »
The README included in the 0.9.1 release has instructions to " Upgrade from 0.7 and older" and to "Upgrade from 0.9".  It has no instructions for upgrading from 0.8.  ???

I'm running v 0.8, and did not upgrade to the [broken?] 0.9.

The instructions for the 0.7 and older state that as part of the upgrade procedure, one will lastly upgrade "from 0.8 to 0.9".

Can I upgrade from 0.8 directly to 0.9.1, or do I need to first upgrade to the [broken?] 0.9?

Thanks!

How To's / Permissions for Contacts? Help!
« on: October 17, 2008, 12:59:26 am »
Hi-

I'm having trouble with the permissions for the 'Contacts' section.

Although individual users can add contacts into their own workspaces, and deselect access options by other users, they still show up in the 'Contacts' list when other users log in, and appear to even be editable by them, even though their individual and group settings supposedly disallow contact management.

They are still viewable even when assigned to workspaces NOT VISIBLE in the collapsible workspace list on the left.

I have gone through all the individual permissions settings for each user, removing all contact permissions, and also the 'group' permissions.

What am I overlooking?

*edit* This appears to be the opposite problem discussed in another thread (http://forums.opengoo.org/index.php?topic=225.0); which appears to be bug related?

Feature requests / European Date format vs Other?
« on: October 10, 2008, 12:27:58 am »
This may have been addressed elsewhere in the forum, but was unable to find it:

In the 'week' view of the calender, dates are shown in the European format, dd/mm; is it possible to reverse them to mm/dd/yy format, or even yyyymmdd?

Thanks!

Feature requests / Calendar Tweak
« on: September 18, 2008, 11:17:22 pm »
Regarding the repeating events option when adding a new event to the calendar, it presumes that the event will be occuring only once per week.

I frequently have events that repeat multiple times weekly, for example:

Event A: Mondays and Wednesdays at 11:30am
Event B: Monday through Thursday at 3:00pm
Event C: Tuesday and Thursday of every second week at 8:30am

There is an option for repeating every X number of weeks, but I would like to include check boxes to select which days of each week the event gets repeated.

Currently, I have to create a separate event for Event A on Monday and another for Event A on Wednesdays, and so on...

Thoughts?  Anyone else experience this?

Feature requests / Tightening up the Workspace List
« on: September 18, 2008, 01:44:48 am »
I've noticed that once multiple workspaces (and sub-workspaces) get added, the drop down list (when editing or adding) gets quite cluttered, and that the only discernible order is alphabetical.

Although it's still workable, it's all too easy to place something into the wrong workspace--I would suggest that the list reflect the workspace pane (on the left) for more intuitive selection instead of having to mentally sort out whether it's the 'banks' subspace under Links or the 'banking' subspace under Documents?

And as an admin, with multiple users, it compounds the problem exponentially.

2ยข.  But then I'm OCD :P

How To's / Workspace Security?
« on: September 18, 2008, 01:34:00 am »
I like the 'Properties' option with each added item, particularly with regards to the Weblinks.  I have been interested in using these to track various logins and passwords to the associated sites (not sharing the workspace with other users).

How secure is this with regards to the filesystem and/or MySQL?

Thus far I have been using mnemonics to enter the passwords (ie. 'reg+phone' or 'reg+reg+DOB'), but I am curious just how far this can be utilized securely?  Or am I completely misunderstanding the usage of this dashboard option?

Thanks!

The forums frequently return a DB Query Error; requiring a refresh.  Is the database corrupting, or the server overloaded?

Installation problems / Step 2, writeable, & security risks?
« on: September 12, 2008, 01:01:34 am »
The system check during step 2 of the install went fairly well except for the note that /cache, /upload, /tmp were not writeable.  The install would not continue until I chmodded them all to 777.  How can I minimize the risk to the site through these world writeable directories?

Thanks!
