Getting Started / What's happening to Feng??
« on: February 22, 2012, 10:18:58 am »
It's been over 50 days in 2012 and there are no any news about FengOffice 2.0

C'mon guys...What's happening: Feng 2.0, Feng Mobile?

Please, Conrado shed some light on the Feng progress!

I have not tried Feng office 2.0 beta, but it is not clear for me: are the new workspace dimensions fixed to 'Customers' and 'Projects'?

Can I configure Feng Office with three dimensions for ex: 'Areas'(of interest), 'Projects', 'Contexts'?

What' s happening to tags? Are they removed?

Feature requests / Re: Starred Tasks
« on: August 26, 2011, 10:02:25 am »
Sure, I tought about it, but then I can't filter my 'Today' list anymore by tag(multi-tag in fengoffice is not supported).

In plus, that is a usability feature: note that each of the todo managers I wrote about above support tags but _also_ have the 'today' feature. Clicking a star next to task name would be faster than tagging it(the way it is implemented in feng). I imagine it in a similar way to the small circle indicating read/unread status of each task.

Think about it ;)

Best and keep up the good work!

Feature requests / Starred Tasks
« on: August 20, 2011, 02:42:34 pm »
I want to be able to mark a task as 'Starred' a.k.a. 'Flagged' and 'Favourite'
That gives additional control over task filtering.

For ex. I want to focus on a given set of tasks, so I click on the star just before the Task Name to make it 'Starred', I do the same thing for a few other important tasks.
I select a new Task Filter/Status: 'Starred tasks' and voila

This is a common feature in multiple task managers: Things, omniFocus, Toodledo to name a few...

one more thing concerning the interface of Feng Mobile:

Maybe you can reuse some of the ideas found in Springpad(springpadit.com), because It provides notes, tasks and contacts.

Hope that helps.

Feature requests / Task Perspectives
« on: August 07, 2011, 06:47:50 am »
Perspective - a way to save my current task filters, my current tag and workspace,  so that I can easely browse my different task lists.

Why do I need that?
Because I usually want to see different lists of tasks(which means different task filter and tags used). for ex:
- All my Next action at Work(tag:@Work, Workspace: Company; Object Subtype:Next)
- All my recently completed Tasks(tag: None, Status: Completed, ...)
- All my urgent Tasks at Home(tag:@Home, Priority: Urgent)

instead of changing filters, tags and workspaces every time...what I want is fengoffice to remember my current filters, save them for me as a Perspective, so that I can easely browse through my common task lists)

This way I can save my 3 tasks lists(above) as perspectives and by single click I can have my lists....isn't that cool ? :)

Fengoffice already persists UI state so I think that this can be implemented without much of a trouble.

Best

btw I think that you shoul think about optmizing fengoffice for tablets along smartphones.

There are more and more tablets sold everyday
I've tried fengoffice on an iPad and althought it can be used, it does not provide a good user experience: you have to scroll with two fingers over the task window(because of the inner div); have to click several times on an item, etc.

You can have a a look at the omniFocus for iPad for ex. It has a nice interface(I'm not affiliate in any way with omnigroup):

I have a dream:

native Fengoffice for iPhone and iPad + cloud sync :)

I know that currently only a mobile version is developed, but it would be great to have a native version of Fengoffice for iPhone and iPad!  This will enhance the user experience and will work faster than an online mobile version.
Such a solution can store task data locally and sync with the online system via the cloud, so that even if there's no internet connection, one can still use fengoffice locally and sync it later.

hi there! a few ideas from my side:

I would like to have a native iPhone application that allows me to browse my tasks and see what can I do when I'm on the way.

For me it is important to be able to filter tasks easely, because I'm trying to organize my work according to David Allen's GTD and that's why I'm using tags to mark my contexts: @Home, @Work, @City, @Agenda, @Phone

I would like to access my list of tasks tagged @City when I'm on the way, away from my Desktop machine.

One of the most popular GTD apps for the iPhone is Things: hxxp://culturedcode.com/things/iphone/. ...It provides only tasks management.

Another good-to-have feature would be to sync fengoffice contacts with my iPhone's contacts.

Greetz!  :)

Feature requests / LIKE Button for comments
« on: June 28, 2011, 09:18:26 am »
project management is at a greater degree driven by discussion and social communication.
Currently we are using NOTES to discuss things. We do comment frequently.

It would be great to be able to LIKE comments(and probably objects in general). This is something that everyone got used to because of the social networks.
By clicking LIKE one can show that a comment was seen and appreciated(instead of posting a new comment that is going to flood the discussion)

P.S. I noticed that more services adopt the LIKE button (Few months ago ning.com added LIKE button to their networks)

Feature requests / Re: Better mobile browser support
« on: June 27, 2011, 08:53:09 am »
Hi guys,

Mobile support is getting more and more important issue as the time goes by...All of the fengoffice competitors provide mobile support(teambox, basecamp, toodledo, etc.) There are more and more native applications for iPhone, iPad, Mac that provide sync in the cloud  and thus becoming viable option for a collaborative environment(Things, omniFocus, Wunderlist).

I love feng, but mobile support is really a crucial thing...so how is it going? Can you show some screenshots or explain more of the current status. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Best and keep up the good work!  :)

It would be great to have a facebook profile page by default on the Contact page

Feature requests / Adding a Contact to multiple companies

Some of my contacts are part of multiple companies.

It would be cool to have them listed as part of different companies
