How To's / Re: The Personal Workspace Can't be Deleted - why not?

Thanks for the explanation.

Originally I did not understand that the All area was not a usable workspace itself.  I think that allowing the user to define the default workspace is the best option, since over time a person's needs may change. In the meantime, I will simply let this workspace stay empty and unused.  (is there a way to hide it?)

As a long-time SMF administrator, I suggest that you take the time to update the forums to the newest 1.1.x version of SMF, there are a lot of security holes that have been patched since this one.  It really doesn't take much time, make a backup, the procedure is automated and is very quick!

cheers

1.3 final / minor control out of place

In Workspace properties, when you click on the Description link, a text box appears under the Name field.  However, about 75% of the time, the Parent Workspace pull-down list does not move down the screen, and ends up sitting on top of the Description text box.  Seems to happen quite a lot.

* oops, sorry, this should be for v1.3.1

You can't display an image, but to show some text in the description widget for a workspace (assuming that's what you mean), select the workspace name, then click the properties icon above it (just below where the title says "Workspaces").  Then on the Edit Workspace screen, under the Name field, click on the Description link, and a box will open up where you can type in a description of your workspace.

How To's / The Personal Workspace Can't be Deleted - why not?
« on: April 06, 2009, 03:30:32 am »
One of the first things I did was create a bunch of project workspaces, and having no use for a "personal" workspace I tried to delete the user_workspace that was created upon install, but it gave me the error "The Personal Workspace Can't be Deleted".  I'm wondering why not?

The "All" workspace is already the top level, so deleting personal should not matter.  I know I can rename it to something else, but why is deleting it a limitation?

cheers

Hello all, I'm a former ProjectPier (an old ActiveCollab fork) user, unfortunately development of it basically ended, and the devs stopped responding to users, so I migrated to OpenGoo.  Running a number of projects in it already, it is a lot more feature rich than PP.  Well done devs!
