How To's / Re: Configuring email with Google Apps for domain

Can someone point me to some logs, either locally or on the server, that might help diagnose the problem?

Thanks.

How To's / Re: Configuring email with Google Apps for domain

Trying to edit an account, the edit panel loads very slowly -- "Connection timed out".

Settings:
Accound id:                  name@vyra.org
Server addr:                 imap.gmail.com
Connecition method : IMAP
SSL Port:                       993

SMTP:
SMTP Server:                smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Server Port:        587
SMTP Server Auth:       Use Incoming
Secure Connection:     SSL

When I save changes, it is very slow to save -- Connection timed out.
Which table(s) in the db can I check to make sure this is configured correctly?

Curious that when I use Administration->Tools->Email Test, it works as expected.
Any advice would be appreciated, as this issue is preventing us from using Feng Office.

How To's / Copying one installation to another
« on: February 22, 2010, 02:46:56 pm »
Struggling to get email working in 1.6.2, I created a fresh 1.6.2 install.

When (if !) I ever get email working, is it possible to copy all my uploaded files from a previous installation dir to the new installation dir,or will I have to upload them one by one?

Thanks for any advice...

How To's / Re: How to tell what users are currently logged in?

Very useful.
Is there a way to make this available to non-admin users so they can see who is logged in?

How To's / Configuring email with Google Apps for domain
« on: February 22, 2010, 10:37:24 am »

UPDATE:
New installation of Feng Office 1.6.2
After setting up a new mail account, I get a "Connection timed out" error when loading an account for editing, and when saving the account after editing.
Sending an email from the Administration->Test email settings appears to work.
Fetching email from my Google Apps gmail account does not work, using either IMAP or POP3 -- "Connection timed out".

-->  Sending email from Tools->Test email settings works, but sending or receiving from an user's account does not.

Feng Office 1.6.2

I can't get Feng Office to fetch email from a gmail account that is part of Google Apps for my domain.

More surprisingly, when I use the "test email" facility, it successfully sends email from an account that isn't set up?!  (It is possible it was set up sometime in the past.)  How do I find where this is configured and delete it?

On the Administration->Mailing page, there is nothing configured.

When I try to edit an email account, I get an error:  "Error: Connection timed out".
I get the "Edit account" page.  When I try to save changes, I get the error: "Connection timed out".
When I try to get email, I get an error: Connection timed out.

I have easily set up Thunderbird to fetch mail from my Google Apps gmail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Installation problems / Re: Problem with upgrade to 1.5.3
« on: September 13, 2009, 09:44:41 pm »
Thanks for the reply.
To try your suggestion, I would have to somehow roll back my installation to 1.4.2.
That means using the 1.4.2 files on the server, but also rolling back the MySQL dbs to 1.4.2.
At this point, I'm not sure OG is worth all that time and effort.
(How would I roll  back the OG dbs to 1.4.2?)

Installation problems / Problem with upgrade to 1.5.3
« on: September 13, 2009, 10:05:26 am »
Hello,
I used the automatic upgrade to go from 1.4.2 to 1.5.3.  The upgrade process reported no problems.

When I first connect to my OG installation, I get two error messages (identical): "Error:  Cannot read 'length' of property undefined"

When I try to create a calendar entry, I get the same message.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks.

UPDATE:
Oh my.  I just selected "All" in the workspaces list and  clicked on the "Email" tab:
"Error: undefined is not a function"

The Email tab is completely blank.  No matter what workspace I select, I get this error, and a blank Email tab.

If this is what an automatic 'upgrade' does, and I can't recover from it, I may be done with OpenGoo...

I really would like to like OG, its feature set is great.  However, it seems almost every 'upgrade' brings a new problem.
An 'upgrade' that crushes  an existing installation?  How can that be acceptable?

How To's / Problem with Google Apps
« on: August 22, 2009, 09:17:18 pm »
Posted this elsewhere, then discovered it was in an old thread...

I am having problems trying to retrieve email from my domain that has  Google Apps attached to it.
The Google config instructions are here: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=13287

Is there something in there that OG 1.5.2 doesn't support?
pop.gmail.com   ssl port 995

Error message in log.php:
unable to connect to ssl://pop.gmail.com:995 (Connection timed out) in '/home/xxx/public_html/collab2/library/PEAR/Net/Socket.php' on line 136 (error code: 2)
Time since start: 3.3537068367004 seconds

Note:  I easily configured Thunderbird to work with pop.gmail.com.

How To's / Multiple email accounts
« on: August 22, 2009, 02:36:47 pm »
I have Google Apps connected to my domain.  I have 4 users with mail accounts, and all 4 users have an Apps account in my domain.  When they log in to the Apps connected to my domain, they can access their email.

Is a similar setup possible in OG (1.5.2)?
That is, each user in the OG workspace would be connected to their, and only their, email account?

Thanks.

Older versions / Re: Search won't find numbers...
« on: August 05, 2009, 08:52:12 pm »
You have much better forum search skills than I do (likely), or a lot more time on  your hands to sift through all the results.
When I search on the forum for "Search" I get 6 pages of results.
When I search for "Search Numbers" I get two results, completely unrelated.

And If I find the links you found, what?  I know that OG's search capability is numbingly limited; knowing why makes little difference to my trying to find an IP address in a note, document, calendar event, etc.

It's a shocking design decision that Search won't return a note containing "192", or even the longer string "192.168.0.1".

In the Search box, type 12.  Press Search.
No results returned, even though I have several Notes that have '12' both standing alone, and as part of an IP address.
Seems like a pretty dumb limitation...

Getting Started / Re: Install Help
« on: July 29, 2009, 11:55:45 pm »
As I recall, you need to create the db before installing OpenGoo; during installation, you tell OG what the database name is.
If my recollection is correct, you can name the db anything you want.

(Since I have several OG sites on my host account, I have to give the dbs different names...)

Installation problems / Re: 1.4.2 -> 1.5 breaks installation
« on: July 29, 2009, 07:00:01 pm »

The solution as Bithunter suggested is to repeat this procedure until you get a successful upgrade:
1) run the upgrade
2) get an error?
    a) YES: erase the line that throwed the error (or the first line if you are not sure) of 'public/upgrade/templates/db_migration/1_5_figazza.php' and go to 1)
    b) NO: You have upgraded successfully.

That's a solution?  I'll wait for 1.6 before trying to upgrade any more 1.4.2 installations...
