Bump... anyone have any ideas?

When trying to complete a recurring task, I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method Comment::setRelObjectManager() in /home/a2opinio/feng/public_html/application/models/project_tasks/ProjectTask.class.php on line 568

Closing normal tasks seems to work just fine. I'm lost as to how to fix this - any ideas?

I just upgraded our Feng installation to 2.0. When I try to upload a file to link to a note, I am presented with the upload dialog but no browse button. Here is a screenshot of the problem http://imm.io/q9cU. Any idea what I'm missing?

How To's / Re: what about project templates?
« on: March 24, 2010, 12:07:39 pm »
Hi Conrado,

I have used the template and have set up one containing several milestones and each milestone has multiple tasks.  When I select this template under a new workspace it only carries the milestones over?

Can you assist?

Many thanks
Amy
Hey Amy,
Make sure that your "source" workspace is accessible to all that want to deploy your template.  I found that when I created a template in my personal workspace that coworkers were experiencing the same problem you are.

I would have to do some experimentation, but I believe that the lowest permission level wins any conflict.

How To's / Re: Template question

It would be nice if, in addition to entering a date, you could enter a "+" and then the number of days, weeks or months you wanted the due date to be set for.  This would be especially helpful for templates, but would also be the beginning of an actual project management capability in Feng Office, which is currently crippled by the lack of dependencies.

In that way if the root task began on a given date, a subtask that had a due date of +1w would always be due one week later...
yeah, that would be nice.  There is still an awful lot of polish that the templates module still lacks.

another 'feature'(?) that I've found is that if you setup your original milestone to use as a template in a workspace that is only accessible to YOU, then when others try to deploy the template they will not get any of the tasks as they did not have access to your workspace.  >:(

Also deleting the tasks and milestones that you used to create your template will make those tasks go away in your template as well  >:( >:(

So that means that if you want to use templates you would be best served by creating a workspace for templates that everyone has access to.  Of course there is no way to GROUP milestones so you'll end up having this huge list of OPEN milestones and tasks to sift through every time you want to create a new template.

How To's / Re: Problem with calendar
« on: March 24, 2010, 11:48:15 am »
the calendar in Feng only gives, it does not take.  So any events created in Feng will export out to your other calendar readers, but non of those events added in those other calendars will ever find their way to your Feng one.  :'(

How To's / Re: Show contacts in all workspaces
« on: March 24, 2010, 11:46:00 am »
of course, to use that the way you want, you'll have to 'assign' them to ALL workspaces.  The other side of that is to assign them to no workspace, then they will show up when all contacts are shown, but filtered out when a given workspace is shown.  Either way they will be suggested in the email module when you start typing their name or email address.

create a user group that has zero permissions to do anything at all and zero access to any workspaces.

Add your user to that group.

Group permissions supersede user permissions. (or rather, what a group CANNOT do, a user CANNOT do, the reverse is not true. however.)

Then when you're ready to let them back in, you take them out of the deaf dumb and blind group.

How To's / Re: Template question
« on: March 17, 2010, 12:25:17 pm »
you can, it's just not real intuitive in how to do it.

  • Admin»Templates
  • Click Name of Template to edit
  • Click Milestone to edit
  • Click Task to edit
  • Click Subtask to edit
  • Right column»Actions»Edit
Now you can edit whatever you need to for the subtask.

However, I HIGHLY recommend leaving all due dates blank in your templates as every time you use that template all the tasks will have the due date you entered.

If you need to edit dates once the template has been applied then you can do that just like you would for tasks you created the usual way

I'm guessing that also kills off the "Powered by Feng Office" bit in the bottom right too. (?)
