How To's / Copying one installation to another

Struggling to get email working in 1.6.2, I created a fresh 1.6.2 install.

When (if !) I ever get email working, is it possible to copy all my uploaded files from a previous installation dir to the new installation dir,or will I have to upload them one by one?

How To's / Configuring email with Google Apps for domain

UPDATE:  
New installation of Feng Office 1.6.2
After setting up a new mail account, I get a "Connection timed out" error when loading an account for editing, and when saving the account after editing.
Sending an email from the Administration->Test email settings appears to work.
Fetching email from my Google Apps gmail account does not work, using either IMAP or POP3 -- "Connection timed out".

-->  Sending email from Tools->Test email settings works, but sending or receiving from an user's account does not.


Feng Office 1.6.2

I can't get Feng Office to fetch email from a gmail account that is part of Google Apps for my domain.

More surprisingly, when I use the "test email" facility, it successfully sends email from an account that isn't set up?!  (It is possible it was set up sometime in the past.)  How do I find where this is configured and delete it?

On the Administration->Mailing page, there is nothing configured.

When I try to edit an email account, I get an error:  "Error: Connection timed out".
I get the "Edit account" page.  When I try to save changes, I get the error: "Connection timed out".
When I try to get email, I get an error: Connection timed out.

I have easily set up Thunderbird to fetch mail from my Google Apps gmail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Installation problems / Problem with upgrade to 1.5.3

Hello,
I used the automatic upgrade to go from 1.4.2 to 1.5.3.  The upgrade process reported no problems.

When I first connect to my OG installation, I get two error messages (identical): "Error:  Cannot read 'length' of property undefined"

When I try to create a calendar entry, I get the same message.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

UPDATE:
Oh my.  I just selected "All" in the workspaces list and  clicked on the "Email" tab:
"Error: undefined is not a function"

The Email tab is completely blank.  No matter what workspace I select, I get this error, and a blank Email tab.

If this is what an automatic 'upgrade' does, and I can't recover from it, I may be done with OpenGoo...

I really would like to like OG, its feature set is great.  However, it seems almost every 'upgrade' brings a new problem.
An 'upgrade' that crushes  an existing installation?  How can that be acceptable?

Posted this elsewhere, then discovered it was in an old thread...

I am having problems trying to retrieve email from my domain that has  Google Apps attached to it.

Is there something in there that OG 1.5.2 doesn't support?
pop.gmail.com   ssl port 995

Error message in log.php:
unable to connect to ssl://pop.gmail.com:995 (Connection timed out) in '/home/xxx/public_html/collab2/library/PEAR/Net/Socket.php' on line 136 (error code: 2)
Time since start: 3.3537068367004 seconds

Note:  I easily configured Thunderbird to work with pop.gmail.com.

How To's / Multiple email accounts

I have Google Apps connected to my domain.  I have 4 users with mail accounts, and all 4 users have an Apps account in my domain.  When they log in to the Apps connected to my domain, they can access their email.

Is a similar setup possible in OG (1.5.2)? 
That is, each user in the OG workspace would be connected to their, and only their, email account?

Older versions / Search won't find numbers...

In the Search box, type 12.  Press Search.
No results returned, even though I have several Notes that have '12' both standing alone, and as part of an IP address.
Seems like a pretty dumb limitation...

Installation problems / 1.4.2 -> 1.5 breaks installation

In my 1.4.2 OG site I went to Administration->Upgrades.  Selected the automatic upgrade.  Selected 1.4.2 to 1.5.

Got this error message:
-- <snip successful stuff>
-- Test query has been executed. Its safe to proceed with database migration.
-- Failed to execute DB schema transformations. MySQL said: Table 'og_template_parameters' already exists
-- Error upgrading to version 1.5

When I try to go my OG installation, I get this message:
Query failed with message 'Unknown column 'updated_by_id' in 'field list''

Any hints on how to un-break my OG installation?

Feature requests / Web Links on Overview Tab

Is there a way to display Web Links on the Overview tab, along with Notes, Documents, Latest Comments, etc.?

1.4 final / Reports Error

OG 1.4.1

Trying to create a report for activity on files.
Order by:  "Updated on"
Sort is "Descending"

Get error message:
Query failed with message: 'Unknown column 'is_order_by_asc' in 'field list'"

UPDATE:  Problem still exists after automatic upgrade to 1.4.2.

Older versions / Can't edit event in Calendar?

Hello,

I have added two events to the Calendar, one starts at 7 am, the other at 9 am.
How do I edit those events?  Clicking on them doesn't do anything.

What am I overlooking?
TIA for any hints...

UPDATE:
It appears to be only in Week view that I can't edit the event.

1.4 final / EMail problem after 1.4 -> 1.4.1

Hello,
After upgrading to 1.4.1, OG says I have no email account configured.  (It was working in 1.4 and previous; I have a long list of emails as evidence...)
When I try to configure an account, I'm told that email address is already in use.

TIA for any hints on how to straighten this out...

Installation problems / Query failed with message 'Duplicate entry 'Users-1-username' for key 1'

After installing OG, on initial user setup dialog, I believe I clicked 'Submit' w/o specifying a Company.
Now, I can't create any user at all, consistently getting the message in the title.
Even if I change the username, email address, pwd, and company name, same error.

How can I clean up the db to allow me to create a user?

UPDATE:  the og_users table is empty.

Installation problems / Failed to connect to database... !?!

Just started getting this message this morning.  Site was up and running last night.
Any ideas on where to look to find out what is going wrong, or how to fix this?

1.4 beta / Strange Search behavior

I have  a note titled "AOL IM".  When I search for "AOL IM", nothing is found.
