Feng Office 3 / Un-archiving a workspace
« on: September 15, 2015, 04:01:27 pm »
Is it possible to un-archive a workspace? I'm not seeing how, but perhaps I'm looking in the wrong spot. I've tried it on the demo (latest version) and I don't see it there either.

Details:
 - We have a few workspaces for projects that we want to shelf for a while. We want to leave the workspace and everything in it intact, but make it invisible so it doesn't clutter out workspaces view.
 - I can successfully archive the workspace by selecting the workspace and clicking the edit pencil next to it, then click "Archive" at the top of the Edit Workspace view. That seems to archive the workspace and everything in it correctly.
 - If I then click the "Archived" view on the bottom left, I can see all my archived tasks, etc, that came from the workspace I just archived, and I can unarchive each of those. But if I do that it doesn't actually put the workspace itself back into the workspaces view.

Any ideas, or is it a bug? Thanks!

Feng Office 3 / How do I put tasks under milestones in templates?
« on: March 09, 2015, 12:28:54 pm »
I'm not able to put a task under a milestone in a template. Is this supported?

I have Feng Office Community 3.1.2 installed on a local webserver in our office. Here are my steps to reproduce:

  • Go to Settings > Templates
  • Click "Edit" on an existing template
  • Click "Add a new milestone to this template"
  • Type "Test Milestone" for name, click "Add milestone" button
  • Confirmed that "Test Milestone" has been added successfully.
  • Click "Add subtask" on newly created milestone (or "Add a new task to this template", doesn't matter, same results)
  • In the resulting "New task" window, the Milestone <select> box says "-- None--" with no options available. I would expect the milestone I created to be in here, even if not pre-selected.

Am I doing something wrong? I plan on purchasing the Professional on-site edition if all goes well with the rest of my setup. Thanks for your help.

EDIT:
FYI, this is the exact issue I reported for version 2.0 of Community Edition in Mantis back in January, 2014 (issue ID: 0004102). It was reported to have been resolved in the next release, but I haven't seen it work yet. Any info would be appreciated.

Feature requests / Custom sort (or to-do list)?
« on: March 11, 2014, 05:09:34 pm »
First off: I love this product.

And now, my feature request: can we get an area or view that will allow us to custom sort and custom filter a task list? I'll describe the issue I have, in case there is already a solution, or perhaps you would solve it differently:

It's not uncommon for myself or anyone else in my organization to have 100+ (maybe even a lot more) pending tasks assigned to them (our client projects are delivered 2 to 3 years out). What I love about Feng is its ability to make sense of all the noise depending on what workspace you have selected, your sort order, your filters, etc.... However, I still haven't found a way to use Feng as my "to-do" list.

A lot of our internal tasks do not have due dates. There's simply too much to do, so we simply assign a priority to each task and then work as fast as we can while constantly re-prioritizing our task list as each new request comes in.

I would LOVE for the ability to manage a to-do list in Feng in a separate list or task view. I can currently look at my massive task list, organized however I want by workspace, milestone, dates, priority, etc., but I would love to be able to manually flag maybe 4 or 5 tasks at a time and move them into a new "Tasks for Today" view which I can drag-and-drop to re-order however I want and check them off as I go.

This would help me focus only on what I have to do, and would also create a priority list each day that everyone can review with their teams and supervisors.

Thoughts?

I'm testing the on-site community edition (latest version as of this writing, 2.5.0.1), and I'm encountering a couple bugs with the template tasks and milestones that makes templates unusable. I'd like to submit a detailed bug report, but the bug forum is read-only and the link it directs me to, fengoffice.com/bugs, doesn't work. It redirects to fengoffice.com/bu/bugs and I get 403 Access is forbidden error.

Can on-site community edition users access the bug tracker? I'm a developer and could be of use. In the meantime, I'll see if I can figure out the actual cause of the template errors.
