When trying to complete a recurring task, I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method Comment::setRelObjectManager() in /home/a2opinio/feng/public_html/application/models/project_tasks/ProjectTask.class.php on line 568

Closing normal tasks seems to work just fine. I'm lost as to how to fix this - any ideas?

I just upgraded our Feng installation to 2.0. When I try to upload a file to link to a note, I am presented with the upload dialog but no browse button. Here is a screenshot of the problem http://imm.io/q9cU. Any idea what I'm missing?

Trying to Classify an email now gives me the error "No Attachments found for Email"

I am unable to find anyway to "Assign a workspace to a mail account to automatically classify email to that workspace" either...

adding an inline image to the email via upload, clicking on "Add to server" gives a 505 server error.

Ignacio says this is possible in his release post.. but I don't see anywhere to actually change the duration of the event beyond hours.  Am I just missing something?

Installation problems / Auto Upgrade from 1.5.3 to 1.6Final
« on: December 10, 2009, 06:23:32 pm »
I tried using the Auto Upgrade feature and as soon as I hit the link, I got a 505 server error.

I went into my file manager and all of the permissions for the index files were set to 644  ???
So I changed them to 755 and refreshed my page.

It went through it's paces and did what it had to do and then said it was finished.
It reloaded my browser and the only tab available to me was the overview.  Nothing else...

I manually uploaded the 1.6zip and unpacked it.

I refreshed my page and got hit with the 505 server error again.

Went back and fixed all of the permissions... again...
and reloaded.

Now I have the tabs and everything appears to be ok... but I can't help be feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Not having any problems at the moment, but I wanted to document my experience in case anyone else was running into similar problems and feeling lost.

Getting Started / Release Notes for humans
« on: December 08, 2009, 11:58:33 am »
Ignacio did a good job of summing up what was changed in his blog post, but I didn't see that until I had already reworked the release notes so that they would be more palatable to my non-techie coworkers.

Feel free to pass along in your OpenGoo Update Meetings

Feature requests / email button on contacts page
« on: November 16, 2009, 08:32:53 pm »
I think it would be really nice to go to my contacts screen check off a bunch of the checkboxes next to my contacts and then click on an Email Button.  The application then moves me over to the email tab and all of the contacts that I checked off are in the TO field.

It would also be nice if when I was in a workspace's email tab and I clicked on "New" then that email would be classified with that workspace; AND I would have the option to not classify it, or classify it as another workspace from the email creation screen.  Not unlike every other object where you can assign it to different workspaces as you create them.

Also with emails, I'd like it if openGoo recognized that when I'm reading my mail inside of openGoo and I click on a link in the email to something also inside of openGoo, (like a comment to an event or a new task assigned to me), then the href target would just take me to that object view rather than opening a new window or (with a target="_self") reloading the site.  I think having new windows opening up with goo sessions disrupts the fluidity that I love about openGoo.

I know you may be thinking "you want to be able to come right back to the email right?"

I think that most folks click on the link, a new window is opened and rather than closing the window when they are finished looking at whatever the link pointed at, they just carry on doing their goo business from that window.

Ideas / Task Descriptions in Task Notifications
« on: November 11, 2009, 08:30:42 pm »
my coworkers are complaining to me that when they get an email stating that they have a new task assigned to them, it has next to no information and they are forced to log into goo, just to see what the task is.

At some point I think I'm going to have to hack the task notifier so that it will email users with:

Name of Task
Task Description
Assigned to
Created by (and timestamp)
List of linked objects (maybe links into opengoo)
Due Dates
WorkSpace
Subscribers

Older versions / 1.5.3 editing tasks in a template
« on: October 20, 2009, 10:22:02 am »
Every time I try to edit a task within a milestone that has been attached to a template (from the edit template screen) I get a server 500 error.

I get the error both when I click on the edit icon in the template view, in the milestone view, and clicking edit when viewing the task (all inside the template edit screen)  I can edit the tasks when the template has been assigned to a workspace, just not as a template.  Also for some reason, every time I add the template to a work space, any subtasks are being duplicated.  ie. I get a single of all the tasks under the milestone, but any sub tasks under the main tasks, I end up with two of them.

Lastly in regards to templates, is there any way to have the template alter the due dates relative to the date that you applied the template?  If I had all of the dates set in my original that I made into a template, then every time I apply that template it keeps those dates.. so if the template is a year old, then all of my due dates are from a year ago...

oh, and just what do 'parameters' do?

How To's / Subscriber list
« on: October 19, 2009, 01:04:29 pm »
last week everything appeared to be working the way it aught.  This morning I come in and my list of subscribers whenever I edit or create something, looks like the attached image.

Any ideas why it would change when I didn't make any changes to the system? or how to change it back?

Installation problems / Installation Video
« on: October 15, 2009, 03:07:07 pm »
I'm going to start recording some quicky training videos on how to use openGoo (to the best of my knowledge) for the purpose of getting my coworkers up to speed without me having to sit down with each of them.

Obviously they wouldn't need a video on how to install openGoo, but I thought I'd go ahead and make one since so many people here have troubles.

What I show off is how to do an install on the same set up that I have, which is a shared setup with a good host using CPanel.  I don't show how to set up with GoDaddy or any other hosts that require you to log into their website so that you can work on yours.  I personally do not recommend them and could offer several alternatives for those that are interested.

I've uploaded the video to my company youtube account, feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding how I installed it.  Sorry if the whole thing sounds / feels rushed, I had to make sure that the whole thing was less than 10 minutes.

Older versions / [1.4.2 - 1.5.3] Exporting Contacts & Companies
« on: October 08, 2009, 03:17:22 pm »
I have yet to be able to get a good install of 1.5.3 and my install of 1.4.2 has a broken emailer.. but neither of them are able to export the contacts or the companies.

On my system I'm running PHP 5.2.5, and MySQL 5.1.3 on a Linux CentOS box with Apache 2.2.11
My browser of choice is Chrome 3, though the problem persisted in Firefox 3.5 as well.

So I went to the demo site.  Of course their version sends out notification emails like it should (I created a new user with my email address and was able to send tests to it, then deleted the account)..  so why is the version that they have available for downloading a broken one? (I assume it's broken based on how many threads there are in this forum on the subject that have gone unanswered)

Any hoo, the demo site cant export contacts or companies either.  I click on the link to export the contact list and the little wheel goes around for a while then I'm looking at the companies list with an export button and a message saying that the list was exported. So I click on the export button again (this time looking at the companies) and the little wheel goes around again then a message says that the list was exported and I'm looking at the list of contacts again.

If both lists were successfully exported, shouldn't I have been prompted to save the files?  Or if they were saved somewhere automatically, shouldn't I be given a link to go find them?

I really want to use openGoo for my office, it has so much potential.. but sadly the "stable" releases just aren't stable at all.  every version that I've tried to install has a ton of bugs and things not working.  Judging by the other threads in this forum, I'm not alone.

The only explanation I can think of is that the fine makers of openGoo have intentionally released a buggy program that gives you a taste of it's awesomeness but is broken and requires you to pay for a service plan so that they can "fix" the problems by simply installing a working version...

Sigh.. I hope this isn't the case.. but I'm getting really frustrated with openGoo and I think I may be regretfully abandoning it due to all of the bugs still in the system.
