Feng Office 3 / Images blocked in Incoming Emails
« on: April 11, 2016, 03:31:12 am »
I have a Feng Office Community version (v3.4.1) installation, and the most frustrating issue right now is that images in incoming emails (most notably a logo in the email signature) are being blocked. Outbound emails are apparently unaffected.

I've tried enabling the related option in Email setup/configuration to no avail. Even with the displayed notice of "blocked images" in the incoming email - clicking on this makes no difference whatsoever.

The simple test performed is as follows:
1. Create test email with logo image in signature.
2. Send to Gmail account. Result: Image seen in signature, no problem.
3. Send email to another Feng Office account. Result: No image displayed in incoming email. 'Alt Text' text seen instead.

What am I missing? Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks,
David

Installation problems / Update on Backup Plugin
« on: March 31, 2012, 03:30:48 pm »
As far as I know, the latest (and maybe also the only) version of the Backup Plugin is v1.0. I have been using this on v1.7.5 Feng Office with no problems other than a few glitches during Installation.

The main issue with installation was lack of explicit instructions (I'm no expert in this subject matter), but more interestingly, the use of a database User password 'DB_PASS' that clearly caused a problem.

You may have experienced this yourself. The offending password for me was <%u376M$s*t> without the brackets. The replacement password that worked; i.e., allowed the application to run, was <RB4g62jxYP>, again without the brackets.

So, as a wild guess, maybe a general rule should be if you intend using the backup plugin you should avoid the use of symbols such as "%" in your database password.

Someone familiar with the code could probably explain this, but be warned.

What I would like to know is how best to use the backup file created and saved to the tmp/backup folder.

In other words, what are the recommended steps for using this backup zip file to restore the Feng Office installation?

I will properly document this information in the Wiki so long as I get the input from those of you who know better than I just what to do here. For such a basic and critically important function, this should be much better detailed than is currently the case.

Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated!

Thank You,
David
