Installation problems / can't upload or create documents
« on: April 02, 2009, 06:01:01 pm »
I have just done a new installation and everything went fine (1.3.1). However, I cannot upload any documents: Error Failed to import file 'tmp/.......' to the file repository (unique file ID: cb..............)

I am saving to disk, not to database. De upload directory is CHmodded. On the same server for a different domain OpenGoo is working fine, but that has been installed and upgraded from version 1.1

Could there be a problem with a complete clean installation?

The strange thing is, in my tmp directory some directories are made that I cannot remove anymore.

If I use the database system as file storage things work as expected, but I prefer to use the file system.

Any idea's?

Feature requests / listing more information about documents
« on: March 25, 2009, 08:05:39 pm »
When showing a list of documents it would be nice to also see the filesize (without first having to click on a line item) and show the first line of a comment (or have some way to describe the document).

1.3 final / workspace structure does not link
« on: March 24, 2009, 10:33:47 am »
When following the tree structure from the big 'ALL' at the top of the screen, all the items are clickable, but clicking on any item does not result in opening a workspace (it doesn't do anything).

Feature requests / Re: features for 1.3

Hello Conrada,

I was gone for a week and couldn't reply to your answers/suggestions, but here we go:

Sub 1) view as a list: I don't think so. It is not sorted and it makes looking for what you need way to complicated. I think the dashboard is excellent and just needs some work to make it more excellent. Just for completeness, because I think I asked/suggested this earlier: eacht dashboard should have a scrollbar so you can see what is in the dashboard widget without hitting the 'Show more (5)' so many times (and you don't always want to expand the widget - scrolling is nicer! Also, a nice touch would be for the administrator to be able to set the default number of items showing in each widget. And, allow for specifying in which order you want to see the widgets on the screen...

Sub 2) I followed the link and I have to agree with Rob Portinga - you should be able to turn of (prefereably in the setup, but per workspace is OK if it will be 'remembered' on the next login) the showing of items of lower level workspaces. The information showing in my widget (or in the list view)  when I select 'company 1' (see below) is just not relevant if you have many workspaces.

This is more or less what my structure looks like:

 Joost
      IT
            snippets
            info
            numbers
            literature
      Software project notes

 Company 1
      logo's
      sales docs

 Company 2 - management
      printed matters
      DVD inof
      health project
      logo's
      etc.
      etc..

 Company 2 - all
      instruction docs
            lic. 1
            lic. 2
            lic. 3
            exams
            special
      material specs
            brand 1
            brand 2
            brand 3

 Company 3
         IT
         other

 Trash

Thank you for your thoughts about these items.
Greetings,

Ideas / bug (or feature request)
« on: February 20, 2009, 08:03:58 am »
reported for previous version: when making a new user and assigning rights to a high lever workspace, the underlaying workspaces are not automatically included, regardless of the checkmark for the box 'all'.

SInce we have many sublevels of workspaces, every subleve workspace that exists must be individually marked for a new user to get access rights. I feel that by checking a top level workspace, underlaying workspaces should be included.

Feature requests / features for 1.3
« on: February 19, 2009, 12:37:40 pm »
Just upgraded to 1.2 and. sorry to say, I am missing a couple of things. Hopefully the following can make it in 1.3...

1) in the overview screen, some items are shown, others are not (like the links). I really would like to be able to see an overview with more boxes, so you can see in one quick view if there are links, or appoitments, or mail, or....

2) the items you see in the overview are from ALL the underlaying workspaces, not the current workspace. This means that, what you do see in the overview, might belong to a workspace 5 levels deeper. Since I am filling my workspaces up pretty quick, the overview has no meaning anymore. Please allow as an option for the admin to set it in such a way that only items in the current workspace show, not the items from all the underlaying workspaces.

3) spreadsheet coming in 1.3?

Despite the above - this is a great piece of software and I thank you (all) for all your efforts!

Feature requests / download document
« on: January 20, 2009, 08:36:25 am »
I would like to, whenever there is a list of document, and the document line an icon to open/download the document. In the overview I have to click on the document, get a new screen, and then select download, or, in the document list, I have to mark the document and then move the mouse to the icon-menu line at the top of the window which is not very intuitive.

Feng Office 1 / checking out - checking in document
« on: January 17, 2009, 04:30:50 pm »
After checking out a document, I can only check it back in by uploading a new (or the same) document, which might not always be necessary. Checking in should (in my opinion) be possible by just checking in without uploading if no changes were necessary.

Feature requests / Re: user settings
« on: January 16, 2009, 09:25:29 pm »
Following up on the above (not sure if it was already mentioned somewhere else): there are some widgets to be turned on or of, but there is no widget to turn the weblinks on.

From the widgets that are visible, it would be handy if you could click the colored widget bar (instead of moving your mouse all the way up to the buttons), to open that particular page. And, while I am at it, a scroll bar within the widgets would also be a nice feature (in my opinion nicer that show xx more, but these options can co-exist).

Side note: we are slowly but surely integrating OpenGoo into our daily work and it is working really nice. In combination with a fast server (in a data center) it is performing a lot better than I thought and/or hoped for. Your demo is a little slugish, but our setup works really nice. Thank you once more!

P.S.: Just curious, why do you call it a "map"?

I know you call them workspaces and that's what I have already, in this short time got used to (and I like it), but is it so strange to see these spaces as maps in an organisational structure.

Personally, I never make an issue about what things are called and I just adapt to whatever is used in an environment - as long as it works and doesn't get to confusing.

Feng Office 1 / Re: v 1.1 setting up rights to workspaces
« on: January 07, 2009, 06:55:00 am »
This is not what I meant: by clicking the "apply to all sub workspaces" button you grant access to notes, tasks, milestones, etc. etc. What I mean is that if I have a workspace 'company' and lower level workspaces 'state 1' and 'state 2' and even lower under state 1 'city a' and 'city b' - that by granting access to the workspace company you should be able to grant access to everything underneath. The way it is now you have to do a lot of clicking and expanding the tree if the structure of workspaces is pretty deep.

Feng Office 1 / v 1.1 latest comments
« on: January 04, 2009, 10:03:10 am »
In the overview screen, the latest comments appear, but upon clicking on one of them, you get an error (requested document does not exist in the database).

Upon opening the document and removing the comment at that place, the entry is there on the overview screen.

(once fixed, please let me know how I can remove these entries)
