How To's / Re: Move Mails from "Send" to "incoming" folder
« on: December 29, 2009, 01:52:45 pm »
OG team, just implement the email behavior the way Zimbra does it. You have a good simple working model there.

Seems like the basics of email client is missing in this OG /FO release.

Can't have such a good collab tool not being able to do the basics, right :)

How To's / Re: How to handle junk / spam emails
« on: December 29, 2009, 01:49:52 pm »
I think the issue is simply to make the email environment behave like a normal one. In most email client programs, you can go into the Junk folder and at least move the message from there to the InBox. I think that is the simple fix.

We have no way of moving emails from folder to folder. That is a basic email thing.

What say you?

Feature requests / Re: Email Search Results Should be Removeable
« on: December 18, 2009, 04:13:01 am »
Yes..email only was my thought. I suppose then there should be a way to qualify the search to just email only.

An alternative approach could be to apply a filter on emails only that would yield a list matching my criteria. I can then mass check and move to trash.

Would that be doable ?

Older versions / NoUnread Emails but Overview Shows Emails Unread
« on: December 17, 2009, 10:27:01 am »
ApacheFriends LAMP stack. OG 1.5.3 upgraded to 1.6 on Ubuntu 9.04

Since upgrading and marking all emails as read, I noticed that in Overview tab it shows I have unread emails. I have none, they are all marked read.

How do I clear that false showing of unread emails in overview ?

thanks

Ideas / an online collab chat area
« on: December 17, 2009, 03:12:36 am »
An area where users of the system can chat in realtime
If it's not too hard maybe even make it so you can chat with users on the system privately and you can decide who.

I got the idea from my own office. I was home and my office manager at the office. I couldn't talk but needed a way to chat with her. Hell my fingers.
eyeOS has this kind of thing built in. Worth looking at to get the idea of what I'm saying if not understood.

Feature requests / Email Search Results Should be Removeable
« on: December 17, 2009, 02:57:28 am »
If I search for some emails meeting a certain search criteria, the results that come back should be shown such that you can click on them all and delete them.

See, I had some 400 emails brought into OG. I then recalled some were log emails I don't want. I searched and found 100 plus. I wasn't able to act on the search result in anyway. I had to look through all pages of emails in OG and put check next to them and then delete.

Please add this functionality. Seems like the search should just show the results in that same email window. I can then click the check box at the top and select all. I can then move to trash.  How cool is that :) AWESOME BABY!!!

Getting Started / Re: Emails setup
« on: December 17, 2009, 02:51:28 am »
IMAP v POP

I too have OG running where it pops my emails from off my actual mail server.
IMAP isn't working :( otherwise I would do IMAP.
My thought is that accessing my emails via IMAP from within OG gives me redundancy. If my OG box dies, I'm down until I fix it but I can still do email via my ISP webmail.

That's why I prefer IMAP over POP in this type scenarion.

How To's / Re: How To Setup Emails As Conversation
« on: December 15, 2009, 07:33:35 pm »
Right you are. Confirmed because I got a response in the bug forum.
Anyhow, Zimbra does it.
Seems like a thing that would be expected from a product of this type.
Over in the bug forum, it was said maybe a script would be written if time permits.
I hope time permits :)

How To's / How To Setup Emails As Conversation
« on: December 14, 2009, 11:08:31 pm »
If this is working for anyone, how do you get emails to be organized as a conversation.
I upgraded from 1.5.3 to 1.6 on Ubuntu 9.04 with XMAP stack http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-linux.html#374

Prior to upgrading I had some 400 emails. Many of which should easily become conversations.
I just pop all my emails off my server and sit them there in my account.

After upgrading, is there a magic thing to do to get the conversation to work.

thanks

Older versions / Email Module - Emails Not Organized As Conversation
« on: December 14, 2009, 10:48:57 pm »
Upgraded from 1.5.3 to 1.6
All emails are still listed one line each and not grouped as a conversation in anyway.

Running XAMP stack on Ubuntu 9.04

Followed these instructions:
  Upgrade instructions
    ====================

    1. Backup you current installation (important!)
    2. Download OpenGoo 1.6 - http://www.opengoo.org/
    3. Unpack into your OpenGoo installation, overwriting your previous files and folders,
but keeping your config and upload folders.
    5. Go to <your_opengoo>/public/upgrade in your browser and choose to upgrade
from your current version to 1.6
    6. Refresh your browser or clear its cache to load new javascript, css and images

Older versions / OG 153 Trash not auto deleting
« on: October 31, 2009, 12:20:52 pm »
Environment:
 OG 1.5.3
 XAMPP 1.7.2
 Ubuntu 9.x Jaunty J

My OG is set to delete trash after 1 day. I have to manually empty trash. I've changed it to 2 days and it still doesn't matter. The setting seem to have no effect.

Feature requests / Save Email Attachments
« on: October 27, 2009, 10:33:58 pm »
There is no way to save email attachments directly onto the web office.
Basically, I have to download it locally to my PC and then upload it to a workspace in the web office.

This is as bad as not being able to print the email or not being able to organize emails by conversation.
Thanks

How To's / Re: email pro workspace
« on: October 24, 2009, 07:41:45 pm »
Naw....the authors have stated that they see email as a user level thing. As such, emails are bound to the user that is logged in and not any specific workspace. What sucks is that you have to click on ALL to see the emails. You should see emails regardless of what workspace you are in since it matters not when it comes to email.

How To's / Re: Don't send e-mail
« on: October 24, 2009, 07:39:36 pm »
I always suggest getting your ISPs or your email server information. Use a client like Thunderbird with a a demo account. Test and be sure you have no network/firewall issues. If you connect send and receive to test. If it all works then you now have a set of valid information. Put that valid info into OG and roll with it.

I would remove the account settings for email and start fresh with all the good info I collected from my test.
