How To's / Can I upgrade ver. 1.7.4 to 2.0 safely?
« on: March 23, 2012, 09:49:53 am »
Dear Administrator,

we have not upgraded yet to 1.7.5 ver. Our current version is 1.7.4.

Is it safe to upgrade directly from 1.7.4 to 2.0???

Are there any recommendations that you have for us?

Thank you for your help.

How To's / Workspace Discription NOT showing up?
« on: January 19, 2012, 03:55:40 pm »
Feng Office v1.7.5

I am not able to make a specific workspace description show up upon logging into the system.

Here is what I have setup:

1. User Personal Workspace is set to be the 'Initial Workspace' upon loging in
(Account/General/Initial Workspace)

2. Workspace description content is added/edited/modified and the check box selected on the option, 'Show description on the workspace overview page?:'

When the user logs in, the Overview Window does not display the initial workspace description. User's personal workspace is pre-selected upon login however.

If I manually click on user's personal workspace, then the description shows up, but not upon logging in .

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

How To's / FengOffice 2.0 & Email Module
« on: September 06, 2011, 01:19:19 pm »
Dear administrator,

as we are testing the Feng Office 2.0  beta version, we have noticed that there is no email module included! Is it still being developed/improved? or is it going to be taken away?

Thank you for clarifying this in advance.

Thanks.

Feature requests / Re: Access Rights for Trash Workspace
« on: September 01, 2011, 09:12:43 am »
That is an exciting news! Thanks for the update. I hope that the feature I have suggested here, will be taken into the consideration for the future versions as it would greatly enhance the trash bin function.

Thank you so much for your great work.

Feature requests / Re: remembering the path when linking files
« on: August 22, 2011, 04:54:25 pm »
Dear Administrator,

I believe that I have not communicated my message well enough.

What the problem is, is not what workspace is being selected upon logging in. That is not the topic of this posting at all.

The issue that I was trying to describe is the following:

1. we are working with the Notes module, we have created a Note, and now we wish to link other objects to this Note.
2. Let us say, that we have 10 objects ready to be linked to the note we are working with, and that all 10 objects are located someplace else within the Feng Office but all 10 objects are located in the same workspace.
3. We click on the 'Link Objects' link and now we have to find the objects to be linked
4. if all objects are located in the one workspace, after linking one object, and coming back (clicking on ''Link Objects" link) again, it would be nice if the script remembered the last location from where we have linked the previous object. This is not the case at the present time.

Would it be possible to implement this feature in the upcoming versions?

Thanks.

Feature requests / Access Rights for Trash Workspace
« on: August 21, 2011, 03:30:55 pm »
Dear Administrator,

would it possible to treat the trash bin with access rights (read only vs. read/write vs. no access at all).

It would be really nice to be in control and oversee all deleted items. For example, if a user deletes an important file, he/she should not be allowed to access the trash and delete the file from the trash bin also.

I hope this feature can be incorporated in one of the upcoming Feng Office versions.

Thank you.

Feature requests / remembering the path when linking files
« on: July 28, 2011, 06:05:17 pm »
Dear Administrator,

one very nice feature that would be very helpful in the Feng Office is for the script to remember the path/location (i.e. workspace & Module selected i.e. documents) when linking objects within the feng office multiple times, one after the other.

Need:
when there are several files located in the same workspace.

At the present time, the user needs to always start from the "All" workspaces and then keep selecting the workspace needed until the file/workspace is found.

Please consider this feature for the next Feng Office releases.

Thank you.

How To's / Turn Off Latest Activity feature
« on: July 18, 2011, 04:40:52 pm »
Dear Administrator,

is it possible to completely turn off the 'latest activity' feature in the feng office. We have tried to turn off the 'activity' feature under 'dashboard' in the administrative panel, but still the latest activities are being shown in all notes, documents, etc.

Thank you.

Feature requests / "Close X" to be added at the bottom of the page
« on: July 05, 2011, 01:41:09 am »
Dear administrator,

would it possible to add the 'Close X' button also at the bottom of the page also?

When i.e. Notes become lengthy, the user needs to scroll all the way to the top of the note to close it. There has to be a way to make this function more accessible/convenience.

Please take this request into your consideration for future versions of the Feng Office.

Thank you.

Feature requests / to start with Specific workspace & specific module
« on: June 12, 2011, 09:38:58 am »
Dear Administrator,

the Feng Office already has the feature/setting for the user to set the initial workspace to be selected upon loging into the Feng Office.

Would it be possible to have a feature/setting where the user can specify what module i.e. Emails can be set as the initial module upon logging into the Feng Office.

Thanks.

Feature requests / Re: Open Source Word Processors
« on: June 12, 2011, 09:22:42 am »
Dear Administrator,

I have checked the above listed scripts. Based on our community's needs in congunction with present features offered within the Feng Office script, most of these scripts listed above are not quite up to the standard for collaborative purposes. The only two scripts which stood out are: FCKEditor.net & Zimbra.com

Implementing the FCKEditor would be a nice update/change for the Feng Office. It would improve its overall appearance, and it appears to be light weight as well.

Zimbra has a great feature of being mobile friendly, and being able to synchronize with the local machine is a big plus.

In my opinion, the present version of the Feng Office is still one of the best collaborative scripts available out there.

Thanks.
