Feature requests / User limitations on adding mailboxes
« on: October 09, 2009, 06:34:05 pm »
It would be nice if an admin can set if a user can add mailboxes in opengoo to check.

If this is disabled for the user, the admin should be able to add it for him where he only needs to add his password or something ?

Hi,

Have you been able to check this issue ?

Or can I help in some way ?

Cheers,

Matt

There is no solution for this yet ?

The mailserver runs Ubuntu Intrepid with latest packages and the Guest OS's are various on usage. This with all kinds of browsers.

5
What OS are you using?

Ubuntu Inteprid with stock packages.

I have a local IMAP server running which works very well with horde and Thunderbird mail client.

When I want to use opengoo 1.5 to fetch a mailbox using the IMAP protocol, this doesn't work well, also not when I check my logs.

When I try to access an IMAP server of any ISP this works OK. There is no DNS issue involved because I see my server connecting to imap2 when I want to fetch mailboxes with opengoo.

Is there any chance to check this problem ?

If you choose to use SSL when setting up the IMAP account you will be asked for a port number. Usually it is 993 but it maybe different on your email server.

--
Edit: Changed 995 for 993

In the database 995 is set for IMAP which is wrong if you ask me.

Even when you change it I see in my mailserver logs that opengoo tries to connect on port 995

Same issue in 1.4.2

True.

Are you able to receive the IMAP folders and emails anyway ? This doesn't seem to work and I see that IAMP wants to connect on port 995 instead of 993.

It seems that there are people using IMAP when searching the forums.

Indeed, SSL is used every time for imap, and why does it try to connect on port 995 instead of 993 ?

Ideas / email settings only for administrator
« on: July 10, 2009, 08:05:18 pm »
Would it be that only administrators can add email accounts to users ?

Or at least that users can't set a SMTP server, this because they can receive mails from another account than they receive it for... you might don't want to have that in your own hosted network when you need to monitor email stuff.

Some extra management from an administrator on user-e-mailaccounts would be nice to have I think.

It seems that I only can't access the account page when the account is an IMAP account, POP3 works OK.

With 1.5.2-beta2 I'm not able to access the "edit account" page. This was also not possible with 1.4.2

It seems that IE and FF hang when visiting that page.

Any idea ?
