Feng Office 2 / Search engine improvements?
« on: November 12, 2011, 08:51:01 pm »
Hi,

How does search engine of the 2.x series compare to the one in 1.7.5?

Are there major improvements or does it remain rather unchanged?

thanks in advance.

Feature requests / Resizable text areas
« on: November 11, 2011, 06:18:38 pm »
Hi,

I think it would be great (and relatively easy to implement) to have bigger and resizable text areas in most of the forms, particularily in the Task Description field which is currently a small 50 char x 5 rows, making text proofing quite difficult.

best regards.

Hi,

I upgraded to 1.7.5 now and it seems to be fixed in the listing/preview (snapshot 2) but not in the Reporte or Printable Report (snapshot 3)

I tested in firefox and Iron and cleared the cache before re-testing.

Regards.

ooops  ::) ...
... I´m still in 1.7.4 because in the past I´ve had troubles with an upgrade,
so I was waiting to find a good moment to do it in case something didn´t go smoothly.

I had checked the changelog but didn´t find it mentioned there so I figured it was fixed yet (just so  you know I wasn´t being lazy  ;) )

I will upgrade as soon as I can then, and confirm it is solved.

Thanks for taking care of it !!

Hola,

How To's / Re: cannot login as admin, but can loging to mysql
« on: August 01, 2011, 01:18:33 pm »
The values in the config.php file are those used by the application to access de DB, but not necesarily the ones you entered for Feng´s admin user.

If you can´t remember what you used when first installing feng you could try changing it directly in the DB, doing this:

- Backup you DB if you have valuable data in it!
- Access your DB using phpmyadmin or similar
- find the table where users and passwords are stored
- google for a common password´s hash, meaning you find that the hashes value for password "guest" is "BLABLABLABLA" (*)
- From your table, copy your current value to a txt file and save ot, then replace the original value in the table for the one you googled.
- Now, if everything went well, you have changed your password to "guest" and you will be able to log in and change it again -whithin Feng- for a better one.

(*) you will need to find out what hashing method Feng uses, which I dont know ATM.

Hope this helps.

Development / Re: Add or Remove columns in reports
« on: August 01, 2011, 01:07:49 pm »
Hi,

I had looked into the Views files but Controlles seems to be is a better place to look for this. I will try to add an alternative report so users can choose to generate either an "Internal report" or a "Customer report".

 thanks for the tip!

Regards.

Hi,

Could you at least point me to the files where the content is echoed  so I can give it a shot myself?

Thanks in advance

Development / Add or Remove columns in reports
« on: July 08, 2011, 08:48:06 pm »
Hi,

i´d like to remove a couple of columns from the print view in the default Reports template (User and Time).

I haven´t been able to find where is query is issued?

An alternative (perhaps a better one yet) would be to add a third button to the report preview from which to launch a custom alternative query that I could fully customize.
But the complexity of the code in the original button prevents me from doing that by myself:

Code: [Select]
<input type="submit" name="print" value="Vista de impresión"
onclick="document.getElementById('formog_1310168710_365586').
target = '_blank' + Ext.id()" style="width:120px; margin-top:10px;">

I am aware of the custom Reports option but there I am missing the option to add some of the columns I need, so the Default report ends up being the closest one.

Any help will be appreciated.
Regards.

Edit:
just to add that searching dind´t bring any particulary useful nor recent answer.

Hi,

I am not sure I understand your problem correctly (and I am still a Feng noobie), but maybe this helps:

Make sure you are using the same value in you url and in you config file (in Feng´s config directory).
What I mean is if you are accessing "http:://mydomain.net.my/opengoo" from your remote hosts you might need to replace "localhost" with "mydomain.net.my" in the config.php file located in Feng´s "config/" directory.

Also, depending on your overall network set up (i.e. no local DNS server), you *might* need to add an entry in your clients' "hosts" file to point the domain you are using to your server´s IP.
Such an entry would look like this...

10.45.23.56       mydomain.net.my

Assuming your clients are running Windows 32 bits you will find the hosts file in "C.\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts"

Hope this helps

Hi Francisco,
 thanks for the reply.

I´m attaching 3 screencaps showing

1) where the line breaks are being entered.
2) where they are not rendered on screen in a general view.
3) where there are not rendered in the reports.

Hope this is what you need.

Thanks in advance.

How To's / Line breaks in reports.
« on: June 14, 2011, 10:58:07 pm »
Hi there,
I' ve  been testing FengOffice for a couple of months and definitely find it more polished and comfortable than most Groupware suits out there.
Kudos for that !

I minor issue I´m having tough:
When I generate a report the line breaks entered in the tasks descriptions are not honored, which makes it a bit hard to read (given that the descriptions have 3 to 5 paragraphs).

line breaks *are* being stored though, if I re-open the entry the paragraphs are properly "formated".

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!
Boogie.
