I upgraded to 1.4.2 and this bug still exists. Could someone please reply on this that it is in fact a confirmed bug and maybe a hot patch posted here to fix it?

When you click on tasks in any workspace and lets say 3 tasks are assigned to a normal user, and then maybe 2 tasks are assigned to a user that has administrative privilege, when the admin looks at it, it will say the persons name in front of the task they are assigned to just fine no matter who it is. This is the way it should work.

However when a regular user looks at the same view, they can see all the peoples names and task assignments that are regular users, but when a task is assigned to an admin, it does not display their name in front of the task, just a : where their name should be.

Any ideas? I can post some screen shots if that will be helpful? Any snippets of code to fix this?

Hi there,

Excellent software, however I think I detected a bug.

For people who ARE NOT administrators they cannot see linked contacts on the data summary page. They can however see linked ALL other types of data such as notes or calendar appts etc. They can also see linked contacts IF they edit the item.

This goes across ALL data types basically when a regular user non admin links a contact they can see it then when they hit save and goto the summary view the contact is not listed but if they edit the data again they can see the linked contact.

ADMINs on the other hand do see the linked contacts to the dataset. Again this is across all datasets when a regular user links a contact it DOES save it but just does not show the linked contact int he summary view although it does show all other linked data types.

Kind of confusing I know and why it would just be this and only for regular users is odd but there you go.

Any ideas?

I am using 1.4 and when I add a contact to be in an invite and click send email notification of invite it doesnt.

Now I know my email is working because if I subscribe anyone to the item and then change it they get notifications for that and everything else, JUST not for the invitations.

Any thoughts?

That worked like a charm. Just one side not which I am sure will be ironed out in the next release that is NO big deal is when someone adds a contact it adds the contact but gives this error.

Missing lang: User cannot link objects click to remove

Thats just an FYI and I assume it is because this feature that I asked for a fix on ie the subject of this thread is simply not fully implemented and that will go away with the next release.

Sorry to confuse you, what I did want is what you stated above which is the solution for assigning permissions based on the workspace itself.

Now I applied the solution by adding the new code just above line 674     function canAdd(User $user, Project $project) {

I then proceeded to change the code correctly for the rest of the 3 code functions.

Now unfortunately when I click to add new contact it says: Error 500 OK click to remove.

Thats all it says. My question is did I need to put the addition snippet of code some where specific? I was very careful to make sure the {} were not messed up and to replace the right things correctly.

I have tried this process 3 times now from a backup file to ensure I wasnt mispasting something.

Any ideas?

One quick question, although this will be addressed in the next fix, is there an SVN nightly download or nightly build where we could get this so its fixed or is there a way someone could kindly post a quick snippet of code that I could replace to fix this problem?

As it is right now everyone HAS to see all contacts if I want them to be able to add or edit a contact.
