Announcements / Re: Feng Office 2.0 RC has been released!
« on: March 14, 2012, 10:49:20 am »
As someone else spotted, is there a planned upgrade path from version 1.7.5 to 2.0.0?
In the meanwhile I'll test this RC, thanks!

Feng Office 2 / Workspace options?
« on: October 11, 2011, 12:58:22 pm »
Can't see the Workspaces option button... How do I change colors?

I'm a bit skeptical about this beta 2, that looks like an alpha 2...

SOLUTION
A few files disappeared(?) from file system, and these first three sound like they are involved in application lock-up:
 application/views/files/empty.php
 application/views/help/view_message.php
 application/views/empty.php
 public/assets/javascript/gelSheet/server/util/lang/example.php
I really have no idea on why and how they were deleted, but from directory status looks like it happened during/after an user access. Maybe the hosting provider has some involvement, maybe not: that's unclear to me!
Copying again files, from 1.7.5 distribution archive, the application returned to normal activity.

---

My site, running FO 1.7.5, was working perfectly for long time now (a couple of years), but today I found it unaccessible at all.
It started telling to not be able to find a certain 'empty.php' file, in an obviously erroneous directory, and I have no idea on how that happened or how can be fixed...

I enabled debugging, and I got the attached error page, that shows up as I login.
Anyone can help?

Lou

[EDIT] The error is labeled as "Error (FileDnxError)"
A check on DB says it's all OK, so looks like no corruption on tables happened, and the same is true for file system: no file has changed since the system was working.
All that I can see is the error like
-----------
  File '/home/SITEDIR/public_html/fengoffice/application/views/access//home/SITEDIR/public_html/fengoffice/application/views/empty.php.php' doesn't exists
-----------
and a backtrace as in
-----------
#0 /home/SITEDIR/public_html/fengoffice/environment/classes/controller/PageController.class.php(90): PageController->getTemplatePath()
#1 /home/SITEDIR/public_html/fengoffice/environment/classes/controller/PageController.class.php(63): PageController->render()
#2 /home/SITEDIR/public_html/fengoffice/environment/classes/Env.class.php(172): PageController->execute('index')
#3 /home/SITEDIR/public_html/fengoffice/init.php(167): Env::executeAction('access', 'index')
#4 /home/SITEDIR/public_html/fengoffice/index.php(8): require('/home/SITEDIR/...')
#5 {main}

It would be great to learn what are the issues you are trying to solve, and how Feng Office is helping you and your business (and, if it isn't, why not).

As a freelance, running my own business, I was looking for some time for a solution to easily manage information between me and my customers.
My job is about design and development, and the first need I usually have is to share with (authorized) users some files (say "binary files", PDFs, analysis reports, notes, schematics, etc.) related to each project I work on, and keep private part of other files (say "source files", original documents, development notes); all of that still having an "information repository" somewhere.
What I need, is an application easy to setup and manage, since I'm not planning to maintain a service for a larger company: my time is in the first instance dedicated to other work.

Note that from my customers (present) perspective, some e-mails would have done already fine, but the information was too much spread, and often hard to manage.
The idea of a plain file repository was still too crude. At least I have the need for a list of notes, even best when they can be linked to files, and sent automatically to project subscribers, as in Feng Office.

As funny anecdote, my first attempt at this organization was with another project management web application. A few days after I installed it though I had a DB failure, and I thought the application had some flaws (while it didn't, as I discovered later, since it was due to server). I started then looking for another PM application, with an easy and clean interface (I don't think my customers would be happy with a complex web site), and I stumbled on Feng Office!

How To's / Adding subscribers automatically...?
« on: September 15, 2010, 07:48:05 am »
When I type in notes I would like them to be easily sent by e-mail to the users sharing a certain workspace.
Now, I can add every time all the subscribers manually, but... is there some way to do that automatically for a specific workspace?

How To's / Re: How to increase file upload? HELP!
« on: September 15, 2010, 07:43:51 am »
I'm pretty new to this thing, but... in Feng Office main directory there's a "php.ini" file, that (from what I see) takes over system limits (when they exceed it).
So, in my case, I have a system limit of 12M for uploads, but that script above sets a new limit to 10M, and that's my limit (unless I change it).

Maybe that's your case too?

Have you deleted the browser's cache?

Duh... right now, and it works properly, thanks!

... I updated to 1.7.2, but I still see the menu item, pointing to a non existent page: what can be the cause?

Note that I already have to change the permissions of files on server on every update, cause the ZIP extracts with the wrong ones; could this be the cause? Which file(s) should I check?

How To's / How to hide "latest activity"?
« on: September 09, 2010, 09:08:03 am »
Suppose I have an user "Lou", who has full access to a workspace, while another user "Bob" is just a client, accessing only a subspace of that workspace.

Now, when Lou adds a note, Bob can read it - and that's fine - and see that Lou wrote it, but can also request information about user Lou, and have access to his "latest activity" list: is it possible to make it private? How?

Installation problems / Re: Can't get any notification e-mail...
« on: September 08, 2010, 09:45:58 am »
Thanks for the hint: I guess the problem is around the cron job here too, I enabled that from the cPanel of my hosting, but something didn't work at the server's side -- the hosting services guys are still investigating on that (...)

Installation problems / Can't get any notification e-mail...
« on: September 07, 2010, 12:41:28 pm »
I installed latest Feng Office CE, and everything went ok (after i changed attributes to 0755 for some scripts that required it).
I added companies, users, projects, workspaces, etc., everything went smooth, besides I can't get any notification e-mail!

I tried the default PHP configuration, and I even tried supplying an SMTP server with user authentication (and it works, because when I type a wrong user/pass I get an AUTH error, otherwise it tells to have success).

Using the e-mail tool I try sending messages, without any luck: seems that they are sent properly, but I don't receive any of them.

Any idea?
