: About upgrades
: tepegoz February 05, 2009, 06:54:05 PM
Hi folks,
I am gonna ask a simple question.  I started to use opengoo with 1.2 beta version.  Then I upgraded the system to 1.2 beta2 and than to 1.2 rc1.  However, I didnot do /public/upgrade thing when upgrading from 1.2 beta to 1.2 beta2.  And now, when I do that after 1.2 rc1 upgrade, the upgrade process says there is no upgrade path from 1.2 beta to 1.2.

I don't know what exactly that /public/upgrade thing does, but should I downgrade to beta2, then do that upgrade, and then upgrade to rc1? Or should I just let it go?

Regards

Hi,

I am exactly in the same situation  ???

Anybody to help us about it?

Otherwise we have to proceed only with 1.2 Beta2 to 1.2 RC1?

Thanks

Hi, you only need to run the upgrade process when upgrading from 1.1 to 1.2* (beta, beta2, RC1, etc). If upgrading from 1.2 a to 1.2 b you just need to overwrite the files and folders and that's it.

I think maybe it would be easier in the end to always require the upgrade process, to avoid confusion, what do you think? Maybe in 1.3 we start making upgrade processes for intermediate releases.

Thanks for your reply   ;) ok i understand anyway about that...

I just followed the readme... So if we know that for the intermediate releases its not necessary its ok :)

So its done :) Thanks a lot

And thanks to help some newbies like us  :-\
