: Android and Feng events
: Niels June 24, 2010, 04:58:26 AM
Hi,

is there a way to show the events from feng in Adroid?
it seems the default calendar in Android doesn't show my entries when I use the link from the calendar in Feng. I don't need syncing, just show what I've entered.

Thanks.

Haven't tried it but ...

I understand that if you can see the events in Google Calendar, you should be able to see them in your Android Calendar. Am I wrong?

Nop, that is right. Android is made by Google, so g.calender is integrated. But with me the g.calendar won't load the feng calendar? Should that work?

It should ...  what Feng version are you using?

162 I guess my problem is at Google calendar then. I'll have another check.

I tried and tried, but google won't show a thing.
It's there in the list, but no info in the calendar window. (and yes there is info in our calendar hehe)

I used the Add button under 'other calendars'. Add by URL and pasted the link.
and it's there, and under settings the url shows correctly:
http://www.ourdomain.com/index.php?c=feed&a=ical_export&n=calendar_name&cal=2&t=xxxxxxxxxxxx&isw=1

what could be wrong?
Cabeza: I can send you the link for the real calendar if you wish to check the ical file?

I have an Android device as well... I sync my Feng Calendar to Gmail, like you would any other remote calendar in Gmail.

Perhaps this is an obvious suggestion, but you have to manually add the calendar on the device itself.

I did notice that the ical in google doesn't always update, if I change the Feng Calendar - my goog calendar doesnt always reflect those changes though... but that was in 1.6.2, so I'd have to test that again in 1.73

But at least you see it in the Google calendar right?
I am not even at the point that I see it in Google itself, let alone in the Android device...

@Niels

When pasting the complete url in your browser. Do you get anything as response?

Sure, i get an ical file as return.

And can you manually import it in Google Docs or other app to check whether it's valid?

Hello Cabeza,

thanks for putting time in this.
it works perfect in Thunderbird, so I guess the ical file is no problem, or there is a problem but thunderbird ignores it :)

like I said if it's anyhelp I'll post you the url.

one thing that's been weird from the start (and is also posted on this forum long ago without resolution) is that posts made on monday often show up on tuesday. very weird behavior (see http://forums.fengoffice.com/index.php?topic=3588.msg14036#msg14036)

Regarding the day changing bug, we solved a couple of similar calendar bugs for 1.7.
On the ical file, send it to support @ feng and we'll take a look for next version.

Best,
Marcos

The file itself or the link?

The file would be enough.

Received.
We'll try to check it for 1.7.1.

I think 1.7 final solved an issue with this. Can you retry after upgrading?

Hi Cazeba,

I noticed something weird in G. calendar.
When I copy&paste the feng calendar url it shows the OLD domain. 8 months ago we switched from one domain to another but the pasted url in Google after loading the URL is again the old one !
I double checked, and the copied URL is definitely the new domain.

How does Google know about the old domain ? It seems this might be the root of the problem?

BTW, it seems 1.7 solved the other issue with the events showing on the wrong date.

Check the ROOT_URL in config/config.php  in your new domain.
It might be redirecting to the old domain.

Nop, that was changed.
: Re: Android and Feng events
: Niels July 01, 2010, 11:55:19 AM
Any Idea where the link could come from if not the ROOT_URL ?

Ok, this can be closed.
I changed the URL manually a few days back, and this morning suddenly it got imported by Google. Don't know why it took several days, but it did.

thanks for the help.
