: Bug in Repeating Task module for 1.5.1
: rtomimbang September 02, 2009, 02:12:33 AM
Hi Moderators,

This is referencing my previous post on:

1.  Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /usr/share/opengoo (  http://forums.opengoo.org/index.php?topic=2612.msg10025#msg10025 ) ;  and

2.  error 500 internal server error in opengoo ( http://forums.opengoo.org/index.php?topic=2597.msg9977#msg9977)

We were able to identify the problem being caused by the later errors posted on your bugs forum.   That is one of the members of the Administration group posted the following scenario:

1.  Adding a task that is supposed to repeat on a weekly basis every friday of the week.  The problem occurred when the task query was not completed on its intended due date.

2. Upon editing the said task with all the required parameters the errors was eliminated.

-------------------------
Lessons Learned:

1. Be careful to use advance features; you should know exactly what you want to accomplish in the said tasks module.  Be sure to test those task before leaving the office (especially if you are a supervisor who uses these tools often in delegating task).

2. We found that migrating to 1.5.1 to 1.5.2 won't fix the issue since the same query data holding the said module item has been imported and sql query for the said module will loop continuously eventually leading to an error.

3. Take note of all your post and calendar related activities you plan to post.  It helps to check and counter-check all parameters before committing them to the system.  This will save you countless hours figuring out what and where the problem is occurring.

In our case, it was really just our failure to follow these basic steps.

P.S.

We noticed that version 1.5.2 will not allow you to commit changes to the system unless all parameters are satisfied correctly.  Case closed.

Cheers!!!
